I couldn't justify spending $20+ on a coil building platform/ohm tester, so i made my own. All it took was a project box from radioshack ($4), and a prewired 510 connector from ebay ($1.99). I drilled an 8mm hole, enlarged it a little bit, and the 510 connector snapped right in place. Drill two more holes with a 1/16" drill bit (which im sure many rba rebuilders have), add electrical tape and a cheap multimeter from harbor freight (they are sometimes free if you get the coupons via email) and BOOM you have a $6 ohm tester and platform to make rebuilding RBAs very easy. Just don't forget to compensate for the internal resistance of the multimeter by touching the leads together. Then subtract this number from the reading the multimeter puts out for resistance, and wala!
