Some of you might have seen my post from yesterday about a gift a friend was getting me, it was a mech mod and I'm no where near ready for such a device so after much consideration and research into mech mods I've decided to ask the friend to return the gift which he is doing.

Instead my gift is that he will order me the parts I want for a vape, and I thought I'd get some help on the matter.

£100 / $150 is the budget, can you guys help me build a RTA for this budget? I'd prefer a box mod and preferably no turbines, I like warmer vapes :3

Thankyou in advance for all the help :)

What type of vaper are you? Do you like mouth-to-lung hits or direct lung inhales? Do you want to blow big clouds? Do you wan tsometing with pre-made coils or do you want to learn to wrap your own? I saw you were using the iJust2, is that the type of thing you want to stick with, or do you want more power?

More power, direct lung inhales. Clouds are nice but I am looking for a balance between that and flavour. I know that if I went RDA I might get better flavour but I dont like the lack of tank :)

The Uwell Crown is one of the leading for flavor.
Another good option is the Aromamizer by STeam Crave.

Both are good tanks with top notch flavor and clouds.

You can purchase either one of those tanks for under $30.

There's a wide range of mods available. Are you looking at using it for wattage or temperature control? Or both?

There's also the Freemax Starre tank or he Smok TFV4. Any mod that will crank out 100W will be good for a cloud chasing tank, but I would suggest a 2 battery mod if you are going for clouds. The iPV4S and Sig 150 TC are around $60 these days. The iPV3Li is closer to $100. There are some nice new 200W mods coming out for the Christmas season too, but they will likely be pricey.

Personally I would get something with replaceable batteries. Pickup a battery charger and two Samsung 25R or equivalent. Get something like the 75 watt TC IVP D2 and a Hercules Tank. Then you have something gr8. Going out for the day take mod, juice, one extra coil and a spare battery and you are good to go. No fuss, no muss. If you have to chip in some extra dollar so be it.

Want to get into rebuilding they now make rebuildable Atlantis coils from FastTech that fit the Hercules.

I have both the subtanks mini and tfv4. Both work great using the RBA. Now that's it's gotten cold I'm finding the subtank perform better than the tfv4 outside. I'm getting slight burn, dry vapes from the cold tfv4.
Move to Abbotsford! That will warm it up. LOL

This is the cheapest new 200W mod I've seen. There is another version with a better chip in it that costs closer to $200.

Here's the Starre tank for cheap.
Freemax Starre Tank $14.37 | Vaping Cheap

Hohm Wrecker 151W $74.69 | Vaping Cheap

That's a few options for you to check into. www.vapecrawler.com is a good search tool to find the best prices if you already know what you are looking for.

Smart move. I'm not a high power tank vaper so I can't help you with specific recommendations but I would look for one with a RBA section so you can make coils if you like.

If you are planning on vaping at above 20W most of the time, look for a dual battery mod.

I do recommend the LG HG2 batteries. Two of them would be good for 100W with a bit of headroom.

After you get your list of recommendations, find the thread on ecf discussing each. Good way to see if a mod has common issues.

A good aspect about TFV4 is that when there's no time or mood for rewicking you can swing the the top filling cap open for a second and there comes the juice.

I bought 2 of the LG HG2 batteries because they have been recommended by several folks here on ECF. I will second this recommendation. I am using one right now in a Clouper mini +. I put it in 4 days ago. I have several devices loaded up with different flavors and switch often all day long but I have my favorite flavor in this one. The Clouper is still showing 3 bars of charge on the battery. Granted, I only vape at 7 watts with a 1.8 coil so that plays a big part in the longevity of the battery and of course YMMV (I ordered 2 more last night) :D

I have a ton of RTAs :). And my vote goes to the Aromamizer because its awesome and there are so many builds you can do, especially if you get the 2 deck package.

For a mod, I lean towards Sigelei. The 150W tc is nice. There are 2 new 200W mods from them as well. I have several Sigeleis and they are built well for the price point.

P4U has the ipv3 li, IPV4s as well.

And that new Releaux rx200 posted above.

I'm glad you asked and looked into, then decided a mech. wasn't for you, yet anyways, lol. If more people would be that honest with themselves and those around them, there would be less injuries. If I were looking into getting a new VW device, I'd have a hard look at the IPV3 LI and depending on the size you want a SMOK Cube II. Pair either of those with an RDA (Tobh style is a good starter, I think) or the TFV4, Crown or an Atlantis v1 or v2 would be a great choice. The only down side I have to the TFV4 is the cost of replacement heads, they can be pretty pricey but they offer a lot of options like 3,4, 6 and Clapton coils.
