Oh man. Oh man. I don't have any tomato juice. I just tried to use vinegar and baking soda and dish soap. She smells better so far but she is wet and unhappy. Lol.
Thanks for the advice, @LouisLeBeau. I'm gonna have to keep some emergency tomato juice on hand. She is a natural hunter of things.
There have been a bajillion skinks lurking about. I think it might be a conspiracy.

Awww. she looks so sad...:(
She hates water soooooo much.

So, here are my initial observations.

I used the formula that was made out of dish soap, baking soda and vinegar.

The acrid, nose-murdering smell of skunk seeeeeeeemed to have disappeared.

HOWEVER (the plot thickens) today when I was in the car with her, there was this suspicious smell that can be described as nothing else but, say, maybe....poo-like (that's the most scientific term I can think of)
So it seems she may have to go to the tomato juice spa this evening.

I will keep everyone posted as things unfold.

!!!! @phephner this might be what I was missing.

It felt like trying to half-... a recipe when you're baking, and then still expecting the cake to not come out flat...because I didn't have peroxide, but I figured it would be ok without it (since this happened so late in the night and I didn't feel like going out to buy any).

She's gonna get another bath tonight. Perhaps a luxurious tomato juice shower, followed up by a lathering of perxoide, baking soda, and soap.

I can only hope she learns from her fear of bathtubs that skunks are not scratch 'n sniff!

I like the pooch in your avatar!

Definitely forgo the tomato juice. It just makes a mess and more work for you rinsing it off the dog and yourself.
Thanks for the heads' up. Yesterday became a "family shower" of sorts anyway. LOL

Lots of my friends' dogs are getting skunked lately too. Skunks are so darn cute. But they seriously have some effective self defense!

My last dog got sprayed 5 or 6 times, she didn't learn. So i kept a stash of tomato juice. So one night she comes in stinking again. I stick her in the tub and head for the stash, but it's not there. The (now ex-) wife drank it... So, next best thing (all I had) was spaghetti sauce - chunky, garlicky - my favorite. It worked, but the chunks were hard to rinse out, lol.

HAHAHAHAAAA. This is pretty hilarious and totally something I could see happening to me! Did she (the dog) end up smelling more like garlic than skunk?

    It sounds oddly appetizing.

I sometimes try to find weird perfumes to buy, but I don't know if I would wear a spaghetti sauce one. Don't forget that this was a thing for a while, but I kind of feel like it would jut make dogs eat each other :p

Phephner is correct H2o2 baking soda and dawn detergent is all you need
    From The Recipe & Directions:
    4) Two preferred brands are "Softsoap" and "Ivory Liquid". As far as auto-decomposition of the peroxide is concerned, the surfactant package in these two is fairly inert. Heavy-duty grease-cutting brands such as "Dawn" are less inert, and hair shampoo is probably the worst.
