Here's what happened today,

I was on my way to the doctors this morning to pick something up. While walking from the car to the doctor's office I was puffing away at my eGo-T, as per usual. Suddenly I felt something hit the back of my throat and I began to choke a little. After minutes of coughing and heaving I was unable to move the tiny object from the back of my throat. I could feel the damn thing poking into the soft tissue right above my vocal chords.

What was it? The little plastic tip from the end of my eGo's mouthpiece.
Canadian electronic cigarette Happy/Joye eGo-T blank empty cartridges (tanks)
It was the outer most piece on the inside mouthpiece, the little square bracket shaped piece.

Before sending me to the hospital, the doctor suggested I try to eat something. A few painful swallows later and the thing finally dislodged and went on it's way to my stomach.

Make sure those ends are on tight! There should be a warning, "Choking hazard. Small parts. Not suitable for children under 3"

Now that it's all over, other than having a scratched throat, I think this is pretty funny.

When I was using ego tanks (back in the stone age as I walked to work, in the snow, uphill, both ways) I used to deliberately take that piece out with a paper clip. Doing that seemed to allow more of the vapor to escape instead of condensing and making me think my juice was backing up!

Hey Wickedwench, have you had any leaking issues after taking that piece off? i.e. getting a mouth full of juice? I've noticed a few times that the space between the two little pieces fills up with juice (and yes, it's definitely juice, not just condensation).

After my little incident, I'm considering doing the same with my tank tips. Did you take both of the little pieces out? It may be my imagination, but I think it works better without the two little pieces. It feels like there's much more airflow, and I get a nice TH from it too. Thanks for the info!

Don't be so sure its juice. Not to be crude, but its probably backwash. Because its vapor gathering & returning to liquid form, it has all the qualities of the original juice.
What you should try is using the transparent tanks & remove both pieces from the mouthpiece area. That way you can really see what happens. I thought I was getting juice from the tank area too until I tried that. What I discovered was that if I couldn't keep the vapor moving, I needed a tissue standing by to poke into the mouthpiece with a nail file to absorb the runoff.
In the end, between atomizers burning out on me and tanks needing to be filled during the day, I switched to cartomizers. First it was the dual coil mega clear cartomizers from Mad Vapes, but now I'm very happy with Crystal Clear's resurrectors. Large enough to minimize refills, but not so large you feel like you're wasting juice. I want to try them inside a 5 ml tank for the flavors I'm sure I like. I shouldn't need to refill for days!

Ha! So I just bought an eGo-C Twist kit, and I'm thinking that my little mishap has happened to others as well. My kit came with two soft-silicone mouthpiece covers. They weren't mentioned in the kit I bought, and were just added as something extra. They completely cover the mouthpiece, and have a little hole on the end to allow vapor through. With one on, those little pieces aren't going anywhere.

I find it funny that I randomly received these idiot-protection covers so soon after my choking incident. Coincidence much?

Those came in my kit when I bought it. I was on the phone w the vendor a couple days later for an unrelated subject and I mentioned how I couldn't find those on their site to order more. They didn't carry them. I haven't found them for sale anywhere in months. I dont use eGos anymore, but those are good for sanitary purposes also.
