Im pretty new to vaping. After trying basic clearos and batteries a few months ago I stepped up and went for the EMOW kit. Not knowing alot a bought it though it came with 1.5 ohms coils and a VV of 3.7,4.0, and 4.8. After having trouble with the VV and coils. I sent it back and the company said it was fine. I then did some research (that I should have done before) and now know that 4 and 4.8 is useless on 1.5 ohms. At least it was for me. I now use 1.8 ohm coils and it works on the 3.7v. The battery does work well on 2.2 ohms on 4v so I am happy about that. I just wonder why kanger would sell something like this. They are also going with a new dual coil that only goes up to 1.8 ohms. I'm making the best of this device, just venting and hoping someone will explane the ohms/volts/watts thing a bit better. Also who has had the best luck with long lasting coils? Thanks

I've had my EMOW for almost 2 months. The tank came with a 1.8 ohm coil installed, and the replacements were 1.5 ohm. Both are working fine for me. True, the original coil (the 1.8 ohm) got burnt up pretty quickly, but I blame the cheap e-liquid I was using all the way (it screwed up some disposable CE4 clearos on a non-VV eGo battery I have as well). I've been using the replacement 1.5 ohm coils no problem. Although if I vape most juices at 4.8v, then they do tend to taste burnt a bit. For most juices, 3.7v and 4.2v work very well.

There's a chance you got a bad apple or something. Also keep in mind, the MOW tank has adjustable airflow. Combine that with varying blends of juices (for example, I stick to 50VG/50PG juices), then you have other variables at work in addition to just voltage and resistance.

According to Kanger the 1.5 ohm dual coils are rated for 3.1 - 4V and the 1.8's are good at 3.6 - 4.8V, but in my experience, it is best to stay a bit below the max rating, or you can get a burnt taste and the coils will not last very long. Not sure why they shipped the 1.5 coils with the EMOW and the 1.8's with the EMOW Mega...should have been the other way around, since the regular EMOW just has the 3 voltage settings starting at 3.7V.
