Hey all.

Name is Nico, 37 male from Namibia, Africa. Smoker for 20+ years, quit 1 month in 2012, 10 - 15 rollies p/day for past 6 months. GreenSmoke e-cig since yesterday morning. 1 analogue today, otherwise vaping 1,8% per volume.

- blood pressure at 'normal/healthy' levels at 7pm, always used to be elevated.
- woke up at 4am, 1 hour before I usually wake up.
- 2km fast walk at 5am felt ever so slightly better.
- slightly dizzy but no lack in concentration.
- fidgety, restless and very slight anxiety, but no irritation.
- good energy, lungs feel good and phlegm/wheezing is already gone.
- slightly more sweat.

Feels like I'm in cessation, or very similar, which is weird. Can't make heads or tails from it yet, but will continue to ride the wave.
Have found in a shop in neighbouring South Africa that can send to Namibia. GreenSmoke is good and all, but too expensive.

Thank you all for the wealth of information and personal experiences here!
Wish you all nothing but the very best.

Welcome Nicolay, your doing great! Like Bob said...There are chemicals in cigs like MOAI's (antidepressants) that are what make quitting tough. But fortunately they only stay in your system for a few weeks before your free and clear.

So no worries, you will get through it with flying colors. Just hang in there and lean on us when you need to.

I vaped for two years while still smoking. I dropped the first week from 40 a day to 6 or 8. I did that for another 2 years and quit smoking altogether. When I quit those last few it was nothing at all ... no withdrawal pangs. I could have done that two years earlier.

I think the key to a successful quit is to vape, and if you have trouble quitting cigs, just drop the cig count to almost nothing except for a couple with coffee and one after a meal, maybe one at night before bed. Tapering seems to help those who have severe withdrawal issues. If you can vape and drop them cold turkey, do it. Otherwise, taper off and quit as soon as possible.

Some people slowly lose the urge when they suddenly stop smoking. Others put them down and never look back.
