I received mine yesterday and I'm getting that funky taste with both of them. I've fluffed, loosened the silicone cup, and still the funky taste. For me it hasn't been a wicking problem, because the wicks are getting plenty soggy. I really do think it has something to do with the cup sealing too tight over the atty when the mouthpiece is screwed in. Hmmm.

Let's try and do a process of elimination. Try this. Remove the mouthpiece and also remove the rubber cap That fits over top of the center tube. Take a few toots and see if the burnt taste is gone.

Great idea, but have you tried putting that rubber thing back in there without removing the tube? It's not easy! LOL

Yes I have, it will fit through the hole. You need something small like a paperclip to manipulate it a little and then use something small enough like a pencil or a screwdriver to push it the rest of the way down. You do have to make sure that the metal piece is centered properly.
