After riding on the stash and not buying anything for a full year, like a black hole, I went into feeding mode early this year, with 13 orders from 10 merchants. Along the merry way of shopping, I spotted a pod system at an irresistible price of $2.67 delivered, and bought two of them.
I don't know anything about it, the Orchid 30W Mesh Pod System. They didn't even have replacement coils available. But, I figured at that price the included coils made it worth the price.
I may never use it, just figured at that price, "who knows?", maybe in years to come all of my other devices may fail on me. And it's dirt cheap...so, why not?

The thing is, this is an internal battery device. If I open the box a decade or so down the road, will I find I have unusable $2.67 devices, or will the battery still be usable? Maybe I should plan to use them sooner rather than later?

Or maybe I should hold them in reserve in case I happen across someone desperate enough to want them, heh.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They didn't even have replacement coils available.

According to the article you linked to, they never made replacement coils for that unit, only replacement pods with non-replaceable coils inside. Regardless, if you can't find replacement consumable parts in the future, how long the battery will last isn't really an issue because no pods/coils = paperweight. Sounds like your best bet is to use it now and pitch it when you've used up the coils.

Also, according to that article, there were issues with those pods so you may have a couple paperweights on your hands right out of the box. Only one way to find out.

If you decide to use them now until the pods are spent, I might be interested in buying them from you after you're done with them if you're into shipping things. But I'll make that decision when/if the time comes, though.
I decided to try one of them. The vape isn't terrible. But, I don't expect if will be my #1, even temporarily, so the coil might last a while. I just accepted y'alls advice about using it sooner rather than later. I'd just as soon mail it off as to throw it in the garbage. Hard to imagine charging money for a device I got for pennies and have used up. Think I'll keep the second one in its unopened box for the time being, in case my baby sister visits. I've been trying to switch her from cigarettes for a while. If she likes it, then I can maybe persuade her to try something more lasting.

Not all pods are equally as disposable, but that line finally made me understand all the pod hate. I love my drippers and dual mods but for carrying or stealth there just isn't anythung better for me, worth the loss of a plastic tank but I did order some small 18350 stuff to try out but I used to smoke a pipe and got really hooked on auto draw and being able to bite a plastic bit like I used too

FWIW, I have a problem with the pod system that started this thread. After charging it up, this morning I'm finding the pod will not snap into the 'device'. I can't see any problem, but it just won't lock into place. Maybe it's done.

Anything with a non-replaceable battery is not going to be on my personal 'approved' list. And that goes beyond the world of vaping.
I realize some pod systems have replaceable coils. Small consolation. However, if it works for you, and keeps you off combustible tobacco...that's the most important thing.

My dad was mostly a pipe smoker. I have fond memories of his fiddling with his pipe...cleaning, filling, and so on. Slightly reminiscent of fiddling with vape gear.
He had one side of a bivalve shell he got at my birthplace, Okinawa, that was his favorite ash tray. I can still hear the sound of him taping his pipe on that shell to eject his burned load. He died 31-years ago. He quit smoking cold turkey years before he died from leukemia, which is not a smoking related disease.
