Built my first micro coil this evening, with my RSST in mind. Used a 1/8 drill bit (closely matches the wick hole) and did about 10 wraps with 28 gauge Kanthal. Got that all set up and used some ekowool for wicking. Came in a bit high at 2.0 however and the vapor production on my magneto was less than stellar. I decided to throw it on my SVD and set it to 11 watts and wow! amazing taste, th and vapor production! I like the flavor I'm getting from the ekowool much better than the SS mesh I had used previously, and definitely plan to experiment more with less wraps on a micro (would like to use this on a mech after all). Anyway, just wanted to share my unintended victory. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's the ekowool or micro coil thats giving me this vaping bliss, but this is one of the best if not THE BEST set ups I've managed so far. Pic included

Try wrapping on a 1/16 drill bit with cotton wick for the "true" micro coil experience. I'm rocking an 8 wrap with cotton yarn wick right now in an igo w at 10 watts and the taste and vapor is stellar.
Haven't gotten around to playing with the genesis style attys yet, but I plan on getting the same setup - rsst and magneto - very soon. I've seen some guys wrap a 1/16 micro coil, mount horizontally, and run the wick down into the tank; sort of an auto-dripper setup.
The smaller diameter coil should lower you're resistance a bit too so you can rock it on your mech mod.

I haven't used ekowool much, and I didn't like it when I did, it just didn't seem to keep up well. Cotton holds a lot of juice, it takes a little trial and error to get it right, but once you do, it's excellent. In a tank it will take a while to get fully saturated, ideally at least a few hours, but you can cheat a little and drip juice directly on the coil/cotton to get it started. You may notice an odd flavor at first but that should disappear after a couple puffs.
