So, I've always been a bit of a diy'er in pretty much anything I'm interested in.. Love making my own coils and just recently got into making my own ejuices.. fun stuff for sure...
Also, I should mention I'm a huge MechMod fan, so, though I would LOVE to have the stuff to crank out my own Mech mod.. well..
I'm a bluecollar guy and having that sort of equipment just isn't happening..
ENTER.... homemade box mods..
I wanted a box mod that was very simple, used (mostly) junk I had laying around.. and still made a statement about where I came from to get where I am today.. this is what I came up with...
It's nothing fancy, in fact its really quite simple.. used heavy gauge wire, and a very hard to find salvaged 15 amp switch.. Battery contacts where canabalized from a handheld device I haven't used in years.. I hard mounted those to the bottom section of a 18650 carrying case that I trimmed down to fit... the connector is a old ego connector that I gutted and soldered in the heavy gauge positive to it's center pin..used the ego threads from that and a old protank beauty ring on the top/outside of the box to VERY tightly lock the contact into place.. Of course the tin itself is one of my old MacBaren Vanilla Cream Flake tins.. Fairly sturdy and very conductive.. I'm sure there is likely a bit of voltage drop from battery to rda, but it still chucks a pretty decent bit of vapor with a .7 ohm coil in it.. (which is about as low as I would comfortably go with it)
All components are staying cool during firing so I'm calling this one a success.. What do you all think? Beginners luck??
