For some reason I am having a hard time posting...3rd try

Just did my first build. When I checked it read 1.27 now after using it a few toots, it reads 1.17...normal?

After a few heat/cool cycles - where Kanthal wire "adjusts" it's metals cross-section - the coil contact screws may have "settled in" a bit, improving continuity.
Assuming you continue to use the coil, you might want to check screw "snugness" the next time you replace the wick.
