My First Coil

My first coil, took quite a while, but I am proud of it. Got it on the third try, and wasted plenty of Kanthal, but it looks pretty.

Looks good, I too just got into RBAs. Actually, bought my first last week (AGA-T+) and just picked up a foot of Kanthal thinking "Ah, that will be plenty to get me by until i can order a spool of it for cheaper". Well, I wasted the whole foot of Kanthal LOL so now I'm waiting on the spool to get here and just have to sit and look at the AGA-T.

What method did you use to wrap the coil?

Congrats on your first coil! Very nice work for a first (or even third) try. Counting from the top, wraps 2 and 3 look a little loose. If you get a bit of metallic taste on a longer pull; look there.

I started with a Peter K. method, and scrapped those two, then did it how I saw Scott Bonner from E-cig-reviews do it a million times, and that is what worked for me. Though I didn't go crazy with oxidizing the mesh, just used a lighter to blacken up the mesh beneath the coil.

I use the lighter method myself on the area where the coil goes. Works great. I use the Peter K method all the time. What rba is that?

LOL, I feel the same way. Need a magnafying glass/led light all-in-one stand thing. Like the idea of a jewelers headgear deal but I spend so much money on mods and vape gear I'm not sure how I will justify it with the wife...she already thinks I'm out of control!

Now that sounds familiar! My wife took one look at the iMotion3 (which I actually got for her, but I'm using until my SVD shows up) with an Aga-W on it and said "that thing's just ridiculous". I reckon she'll be sticking with her eGo-C + MT3. More toys for me!
