Hi all. Been a smoker for 23 years and for the first time, I have real hope of quiting for good. I bought a kangertech emow mega starter kit and I love it. It really satisfied me. I'm very excited about this. It's my first full day vaping with cinn-bunn flavored liquid (love!!), and no cigarettes!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum :)

I remember my first day. Back then I just had a cig-sized kit with cartomizers (Volts from Smokeless Image), and a crappy tobacco juice. Anyway, my wife and I were sitting across the room from each other in our dueling overstuffed chairs (yeah, we're old foggies) and I must have had a strange look on my face because she asked me what was wrong. Nothing was wrong, but I was just in amazement having gone a full day without a cigarette...the first time in more than 40 years. The next day I ordered her her very own starter kit. Congrats on your first day.

Good choice on the equipment and you've made the all important first step of putting down the cigarettes. That's most of the battle. There'll be challenges coming up but we all had them and you can beat them too. Vaping is a much better alternative to smoking. If you do run into questions or issues, don't be shy about sharing them. Often times there's an answer out there and there are enough members here that you're likely to find someone who knows it.

A pretty good place to start is to figure out how much nicotine you need. The most important take away is don't be worried about stronger nicotine levels. Nicotine without the carcinogens is a bit worse for you than caffeine. Using too weak an e-liquid or cutting your nicotine too soon is a big cause for Vapers going back to smoking. Once you get that, the next stop on the road is figuring out what your ADV (All Day Vape) is. Much as with cigarettes, there will be one that stands out. Once you've got those two things done, well, it's rinse, lather, repeat.

Good info thanks. I was at a pack a day for only about a year. Before that, about a half pack mostly. I chose a level 12 nicotine. Not sure if that's too high or low, but it did satisfy me all day today. I want to get some liquid with 0 nic for the longer vaping sessions.
Sounds reasonable but there's too much variation in how humans smoke and how cigarettes and e-cigs are absorbed to make an easy chart so you just have to feel it out. 0 or lower level nicotine can be useful for later in the day around bed time since nicotine can act as a stimulant. Quite a few folks use stronger nic in the morning and lower in the evening. It's all about what works for you. My personal opinion? Don't worry about too much nic to begin with, you can always cut it later. I was on 40 mg/ml for a long time after quitting. Now I'm down to 6-9 mg/ml. It really wasn't that tough a journey.

Don't be scared to start on higher nic levels. Honestly, anything to stay off the cigs. Tapering down to 3-6 mg will come easily after a while anyway, even quicker if you get into dripping.
