My first DIY

So, while running errands today, I picked up some VG (and ordered half a litre of PG at the same time - love my pharmacist. No questions asked.) at the local Rexall, with the intention of using the DIY flavours I won on vape Skool a few weeks ago.

Figured I'd do up a little 0-nic juice for later at night, so I'm not quite so keyed up on nicotine when I head to bed. So, into a bottle went 4ml VG, 0.5ml vodka and 0.5ml of Ezvape's cinnamon roll flavour. Dripping it on my LT right now, and it's quite pleasant, actually. I might tweak it a bit somewhere down the line, but all in all, it's pretty good as is.

I feel like I'm walking by a Cinnabon in the fog, almost. That vapour takes forever to dissipate.

well done man ...I am new to the game and smoke free for 4 days now and was down to 2-3 cigs for a week before that all due to vaping!
I am wanting to mix my own stuff as well ...it can't be any worse then the millions of rounds off ammo I make for long range shooting at the range!

I went to the pharmacy at Wally World today and I only found a small bottle of Glycerin said USP but did not say anything more..VG? syntec?
would you mind shareing your product info with me so I know what I am looking for as in brand names when I hit some larger drug stores an such ...so I can better explain my self?

I'm pretty sure any USP glycerin is pure enough to be used for vaping. I could be mistaken, however. Mine just says "Glycerin USP" too. If you look at the label of any store-brand glycerin it should say who packaged it. The one I got is made by RW Packaging Inc.

I went into a Pharma Plus myself, and basically all I did was ask the pharmacist if he sold propylene glycol. He checked his cupboard, didn't find any on hand, and so said he'd order some for me. 500ml for around 8-10 bucks. I'm pretty sure USP PG is pretty consistent from manufacturer to manufacturer. Though I could be mistaken on that one too.

There is 2 major kinds of pg I have seen that pharmacists get. They are both the exact same. Make sure you specify that it is infact usp grade. They can get alot of different kinds of pg for a lot of different uses. When you get it though, don't fret. It will clearly state the grade on the label. Vg on the other hand.... I find them to be different. Because I only use 10% vg, I have no problem buying it from a shop when I order my cartos.
Just a little DIY tip from someone who has mixed every flavor in the TFA catolog, don't bother trying to take a exact recipe from anyone. You will eventually figure out exactly what you like. It dose take time so be sure to have something good to vape while you experiment.

Thanks folks...I am commited to not smoking and keeping my wife and myself in juice....she is off the cigs 4 days with me and said that as long as she has juice to vape she is done with smokes!!

It's all one day at a time. As so many people have pointed out to me, every cigarette not smoked is a victory. Congrats on the 4 days, and here's to many more!

Brewed up my first batch last night couldnt beleive how easy it was. Used the e-juice calculator app for Iphone and made 20 ml's of Mountain Dew. Let it steep for a whole 3 hrs I likey. Why did I not do this sooner ?

..... and somedays you'll think .... wish I just had a premix from a vendor. That is of course unless you find a flavour that you stick to and mix it consistently day-in-day-out.

I'm still DIY'ing but like to taste the premixes too from time to time.

Started on the premixed flavours but quickly got into the DIY and been having a blast mixing up my own stuff - I'm a Food Scientist by occupation so a total lab / formulation geek. I have found 2 formulations (by much trial and error) that I love - Buttered Rum Java Juice & Kahlua Java Juice I tend to make 25 ml batches of each and then vape the one while the other steeps - a bottle lasts me about a week so, I tend to switch between the 2 on a weekly basis.

I like 10 mg nic & 70/30 PG/VG blend. Using an eGo C Twist (1000 mah battery) with a SmokeTech 3 ml Tank using a low resistance, dual coil cartomizer (1.5 ohm) and love it. Happy Vaper is my main supplier - shipping usually arrives the next day and they carry an extensive range of flavours and DIY accessories - the staff are very helpful too.

Caution - I should have known better but the FlavourArt Italian Smoked Bacon Flavour WILL make your carto / atty its Bi#*! and dominate it forever - no saving the carto/atty - Taste is bloody awful and will NOT go away.......

I find Steeping really helps mellow & enhance the flavours - I usually leave the bottle open for 24 hrs then seal it up and let it sit in the cupboard for 6 days - shaking daily - it is a completely different juice after this process compared to when freshly mixed - definitely worth the wait.

I am just getting into the DIY stuff and i have put together some weirdly wonderfull stuff ...Like the Vanila hazelnut coffee that I made juice from and then added a few drops of blueberry to!....sounds awefull tastes awesome!!
and I also made some vanila bean ice cream with mango....I call it (couch) as in great for when lounging on the couch lol

I love hearing about otheres DIY experiments good and bad as I find that I learn the most from there details!
