Hello everyone,

i just joined ECF, and was directed here by the website so i thought i should start and write a post trying to sum up my thoughts.

being a selfish human being i am only here to gain from other people experiences as i think i don't really have lots of experience to share.

i started vaping on the 3rd of October 2016 and that's also the day i quit smoking after 13 years of heavy smoking.

i also suffer from asthma and don't ask me why but i just love smoking and now love vaping! for me it's the hit in the back of the throat and the shapes and layouts of smoke as it slowly moves into the canvas.

even when i used to smoke cigarettes for some reason i produced much more smoke than the average smoker, if i were to meet someone somewhere they would know where i am by the "chimney" of smoke as they say!

anyway, i started vaping with the good old pen shaped most basic cheapest option, upgrading all the way vaping pens are concerned because i used to smoke shisha/hookah as well and that was my idea of smoking anything really untill i lost my egoIII along with my tank as they fell deep into a manhole at work.

then my friend thankfully offered me a 40w battery and i went and bought a Jomo tank and that was my way into sub ohm vaping and straight away i was thinking this should do a lot more than this.. so a few weeks after i went to the shop and after a small chat i decided to buy a Smok Alien kit!

and booom, man i thought that kit was brilliant... it came with a baby beast tank and that was everything i wanted from a vape device!

untill.... i was working night shifts at a takeaway and my kit fell from my top pocket into a huge tub of garlic sauce!! as i reached to take it out it started firing so i took the batteries out and washed it thoroughly when i went home shoved it into a bag of rice hoping that it would work... and it did! but.... as i was shoving it down the rice bag i completely destroyed it and my attempts to super glue it failed....

so again the search for another device, and because my batteries would run out after 2/3 of the day i started looking for a bigger box mod, and because my baby beast required filling more than i breathe i also started looking for a bigger tank.

after some search i decided to go for a wismec rx300 along a cloud beast tank which has survived and i am still using it now, but unfortunately my rx300's 510 connector threads has worn out so i had to over tighten my tank which led to the 510 connector becoming completely loose and left the box mod just hanging by the soldered wire!

so i went and bought an ijoy maxo quad and after a couple days the screen started to play up and become awkwardly pixelated until it resets.. so i had to return that.

and now i am using an Eleaf TC200 that i got for my wife who does not like vaping and i failed to get her into vaping as every setup i tried make her cough and she just prefers to smoke!!

the Eleaf is decent but the only device that would last me a full day out is a quad battery mod and now i am looking at things like, gx2/4, gx350, snowwolf 365, laisimo f4 and i don't know which to choose considering that i really like the Smok mag 225w and i am thinking i should go for that and just carry sets of extra batteries with me mag style.

i also ran out of coils for my tfv8 so i decided to try the RBA that came with it for the first time and man oh man that was the most fantastic vape experience i ever had!!

i ended up buying some 316l ss wire along with a 521 tab and some organic cotton, the cheapest coil jig i could find etc..

i just don't know what is a good battery life box mod to buy, so i would really appreciate any feedback advice except for mechanical mods as i just don't feel safe and my mind does not do much of electronic thinking.

sorry for the long post and thank you very much if you are still reading this far you are awesome!!

You can have high wattage and massive clouds or you can have long battery life and few stops for refilling.

Pick one. :D

Welcome to ECF!

Sounds like you're tough on the hardware. You might check out the Geekvape Aegis. It's built to military specifications for ruggedness.

Hi and welcome. @Coastal Cowboy has the right of it. You can get great battery life, or massive cloud. You can even have both. But you don't get both at the same time on the same machine. Ask me, the answer to your problem is get a regular old (one or two battery) mod and carry spare batteries. You don't say-- or I missed it-- what wattage you like to vape. If you can live in the 70-80 watt range, I think I would pick a 70-80 watt regulated single battery machine as they are easier to carry around. Unless you have a desk job-- seems unlikely from your description to me-- carrying a 3-4 battery mod gets to be a chore in a hurry. Note to safely attain their full wattage the one battery mods will require 25A batteries or better, such as the Sony VTC5A or the LG HD2C. (I will not say I have never destroyed a mod at work, but I am having a hard time conjuring a job whereby I might have destroyed one by dropping it in a manhole and another in a pot of garlic sauce, lol.) Two of those would probably get you through a long day, so you could carry a spare battery and a unicorn bottle of juice in your lunchbox. If you needed three batteries, no problem, just carry more and start swapping at break. Please be very careful carrying spares: they can short out on keys or coins in the pocket with ugly to catastrophic consequences. Always carry spare batteries in a plastic safety case or a silicone battery sock. Always. No foolin'. Also start haunting eBay or somewhere looking for a belt pouch for a cellphone or something to carry your mod in. This falling out of pocket thing is a bad idea.

If you routinely vape above 80ish, you'll want a two battery (at least) machine. Look for one with a small or convenient form factor. My Wismec Predator is the smallest two-battery mod I own, and it isn't much bigger than two batteries themselves. Another good option-- older now and more expensive-- is a Vapor Flask. It's a two battery machine, but it is the size and shape of a pocket flask and can be easily carried in the back pocket.

Another option for extended battery life is getting a mod sized for a bigger battery. There are now 20700 and 21700 mods out there and they have better capacity in the cells. I won't recommend one as I don't have any; and I am still leery of buying one as not everyone is yet making the batteries. Pay very careful attention and look around on this board before buying if you go that route; there is difference, sometimes large difference, in the capacity and ampacity of the new batteries.

A tried and true form factor, and one I like, is the 26650 battery. I have a Vapor Flask Stout that uses a single 26650 and it is small enough for pocket carry.

Anyway, there's some thoughts for you, and a wall of text to compliment your post. Welcome to the board and vape happy.

Howdy and welcome :) learning stuff is what this site is for. yeah, those aliens are not known for durability.

There are ways to get a whole day of vaping out of just a two or even one battery mod. Frequently it requires an old school coil atomizer rather than a cartridge device.

The ageis is nice but it’s a one battery mod and get it to power an atty for a whole day requires a certain amount of restraint. I do it by wrapping big half ohm single coils and heavily wicking them. It can be done though.

I get medium battery life and medium clouds this way
