So, as i mentioned in a previous noob thread, i started off with a larger battery mod instead of a smaller analog style ecig. I chose the altsmoke silver bullet.

I ordered juices in 24mg, 36mg, and 48mg.

I use the 48 and 36 to keep the cravings down. I was a half a pack smoker of american spirit yellows. I use the 48mg in the morning, and the 36 during the day. It keeps the craving away, but does not shut it out completely. I keep finding myself wanting to step outside for a smoke, only to realize i have a nicotine pumping machine sitting right next to me. The habits are hard to break, but the nicotine delivery is top notch.

So far i have been sucking on this thing like a baby bottle, and i have yet to exhaust my first battery. I bought 3 batteries to get me through a week long camping trip, i dont see that being a issue.

I bought both carts and standard atomizers. I prefer the drip method so far, but its not to convient for driving. So i bring both carts with me on the road.

I am on my 3rd day of vaping, and i have never felt more free of big tobacco in my life. I love the fact i can sit on the couch vape as much as i please.

I dont regret going big for my first unit, i think the convenience o f not having to jack with batteries is going to make my transition easier. I dont mind the size, i am not really into "skinny jeans" so the silver bullet fits fine in my typical loose flannel lined winter jeans.

Thanks to this forum for educating me before i made my first purchase.

thanks! i think this is going to work for me long term. I already feel much better, and i can smell and taste things again. Best part, not hearing the wife tell me i stink. Its not a total replacement for analogs, but its good enough. I didnt plan on quitting smoking, and i dont plan on quitting vaping. I plan on replacing smoke with vape. I like my nicotine.

Welcome to ECF,
I understand completely. I started out with a SDMK II Screwdriver from vaper "Trog" and 36mg liquids. That was 2 months ago and haven't had a cigarette after my 2nd day of vaping. I now also have a bottomfeeder mod that gives me continous juice.

I smoked for 40 years and after 2 days, I quit. Unbelievable to me, but I am most grateful that I am now an "ex-smoker". :vapor:

I, along with many others here have had amazing success with their PV. I completely cut out analogs for 3 days and in the last 3 days I've had 1 - 2 a day.

At first I felt very upset that I let myself have an analog when I felt like I had a perfectly good substitute in hand. Something I enjoyed more even! But, something inside my brain told me that I WANTED the smokey tobacco and the convenience of a good old cigarette! (noted taboo lingo :p)

I finally broke down and bought a pack and I smoked the first one and immediately really smelled the ashtray scent it was giving off that I somehow had seemed impervious to the last 5 years. I put it out about 3/4 of the way to the .... and smelled myself afterward and it was not pleasant. It tasted nasty and (like many others) i had to vape afterward to get the taste out of my mouth. I repeated the process one more time about 5 hours later and that was enough for me..I proceeded to toss the pack.

But, the analog monster came back again the next day. Rinse, wash, repeat. Same scenario as the day before and I just felt so stinky and gross afterward that I was wondering where all the enjoyment was with these things for me. 2 analogs down then, pack in garbage.

The next day, same thing..only this time I was smart enough to realize that I may not need to beat myself over the head into thinking it is a terrible sin to want an analog, so I kept the pack. But, it is amazingly strange how much of a 180 my sense of how many analogs is too many has taken in only a few short days.

I'm sure when I get my new juices with a bit extra flavor for my recovering taste buds that I will be able to not have to stress myself out with these analogs anymore and I can just roll with the vaping.

20 - 25 analog per day down to 1 - 2 per day in one week, without every feeling majorly uncomfortable like I did when I tried to quit with other methods.

There was a point in here somewhere: It can seem like there is a lot of pressure to completely stop in the first few days, and in the beginning I was riding high on that wave. But, as I began to realize that I hadn't quite found the elusive "sweet spot" the vaping community strives to attain I realized it was ok to take a few drags on an analog every once in a while.

If anything it is actually reinforcing my resolve to quit due to how bad they seem to taste/smell..etc. If I wasn't trying them I think I might have romanticized the analog's a bit and not realized how awful they were after I'd found vaping!

Good luck on your travels through vaping, spend time here and your experience will only get better I'm sure!

the ecig is the greatest thing ever, i wasn't even trying to quit smoking, i picked up an ecig just 'cause i was curious and wanted something to smoke in the house/car. started with the 510, then riva, and now custom diy mods. i indirectly quit smoking as i just prefer/love the ecig over the analogs. most think i got the ecig to quit smoking but i just tried it out and shortly after i converted to it as the primary fun toy. it's just that much better.
