First attempt with 28 guage nickel came out to .14 ohms on a Tugboat V2 clone sitting on a Kangxin mini that came in the mail today. I went slow and cautious but didnt have any trouble. I wrapped it on a coiling tool then stretched it to get the coils separated. I've been building with 28 guage kanthal since last March and I'm sure that made things easier.

The Kangzin passed the dry cotton test. I'm vaping it at 440 F with 30 watts for now. The vapor is cooler than I'm used to. (I'm usually at 20 watts, 1.4 ohms on drippers. Does that make me a tootle puffer?)

Does anyone know how far can I push the temperature past 420 and still have some dry burn protection? I usually will notice the faintest wiff of dry burn. Will temp control make this harder or easier?

Somebody asked, why TC? I still like the taste and vapor quality I get dripping with Kanthal but I fiddle a lot more. On my own time that's not a problem but it is a problem in the car and on the shop floor at work. Those are the places where I expect to use temp control the most.

How do I post this photo so it appears on the page? Photo of the build. Photo by c cparc - Google Photos
