tl;dr
My setup came with a few hitches and unexpected results, but in the end, I am glad to give up analogs and venture into the world of PV's.
So today I received the final piece to my setup, my PrecisePlus 10440. My excitement had been brewing all day. At work, trying to finish my very last pack of analogs, ever, so I could put my past behind me. From this day forth, I will never burn another cigarette, but my adventure into the world of PV's has not been without a few obstacles. Being a NM resident, I chose to support my locals, and ordered a Torpedo tank from Jonah (Welcome to Vapor Age - Step out of the smoke.....). Beautiful craftsmanship. And from my research, the PrecisePlus line of mods was right up my ally. Unbeatable... precision? for lack of a better word. The mod is amazing! The last piece of the puzzle was a nozzle for my set. So I ordered a T-Tip from SuperT (with the thought of trying dripping in the future).
To understand how I came to my current setup, let me explain each piece of the puzzle. Right off the bat, I realized that I wanted some sort of tank. The idea of a tank seemed obvious to me. At this point I came across the decision of either a DC setup or CE2. I did plenty of looking around and reading here and there, but couldn't make a decision. That is when I stumbled across Jonah and the Torpedo tank. I just knew I had to support my locals, and that simplified the decision. I would get a Torpedo. Then came the mod. I wanted an elegant, sleek, futuristic mod. Something which was a work of art. All readings pointed to the Precise. Rave reviews, and neigh a single negative remark. Perfect, plus it looked beautiful! But what size? I figured I didn't need a giant mod, as I hardly used to smoke anyways. So I started at the bottom of the line, although I was really intrigued by the idea of 6v vaping, I decided to follow the general advice to start with a 3.7v mod. Finally, I just threw in a T-Tip for future experimentation.
When I got home from work today, I gathered all of my parts, and set them in front of me. And began to assemble them. The batteries came fully charged (I set them in the charger, and the green light came on within 5 min). So I filled my tank with some 100% VG American Spirits flavor 25mg/ml juice from Jonah, and attached the tank to my PrecisePlus. Then I went to put the T-Tip on the tank. It didn't fit
. What a bummer! I was so looking forward to vaping that I just didn't want to wait! So I said screw the tip, and just tried to vape without one. Big mistake... So I grabbed some 250 grit sandpaper I had laying around and got to sanding... An hour later, the T-Tip was in the tank, quite snugly and without a rubber seal. So my setup was complete, and I prepared for my first hit. I press the button and take a few primer puffs (as I read). And started my 5-second draw of my first vape. What a heavy hit! but hardly any vapor
. I thought VG was supposed to give tons of vapor! I continued to vape it for a while, and decided to give it a rest. Satisfied with the amount of nic in my blood, but disappointed in the bland flavor of the juice and lack of vapor.
I got ready and headed to the pub to watch the football game and see some friends, and show off my new toy
. I sat there and watched the game, and puffed on my PV. Everyone was intrigued by the device! I have many friends that have vaped an ecig, but no one had ever seen one quite like mine (I think It was the giant tank that was grabbing their attention). So I passed it around and let everyone try it. By the time it got back to me, the plexiglass had slid nearly all the way off, and my hands were covered in ejuice!! I really had a buzz going from all that nic, so I went and washed it off.
Towards the end of the game, I started to notice that the vapor had become a bit thicker, but still no where close to what I was expecting from what I had seen on videos of the vapor VG produced, and the vapor a CE2 produced. And the juice started to get a bit of flavor to it. I was more conscious of the tank, keeping the glass in place. By the time I got home, I had a big grin on my face. I had a feeling for the proper vaping technique, and everything seemed to fit in place. I am very satisfied with my setup, although I do have some complaints, I look forward to the wonderful world of vaping.
Some thoughts. Maybe you guys can answer a few of my questions. Why is it that my VG produces very thin clouds of vapor? Is my battery not strong enough for a CE2? Why didn't my T-Tip fit my tank? Is there a way to make the glass of my tank less prone to sliding off the caps of the tank?
