Hi everyone!! My first post, and I am hoping for a little advice. I have been on a Kanger EMOW starter kit for about 4 months now, off the analogs for 2 months, and am ready for an upgrade. I don't have enough money for a new tank AND a new battery, so I have to pick one. The dude at my local shop told me that my tank is decent, and I should opt for a new battery. He recommended the iStick 30W. I have read that the tank ought to be the first thing you replace (it seems like the aspire atlantis or the kanger protank are the way to go). So, my question to all of you is this-Should I buy a new battery, or a new tank? If I buy a new battery, which one, and if I buy a new tank, which one? I have found that the dual coils that I use in my current kanger tank don't last me very long, a week at the absolute max, but I should really be replacing them every 3-4 days. Do the aspire coils last longer? Sorry for the 50 questions, but I am still learning. Any and all advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
If I had to choose between one or the other, I would choose a battery first, which opens up your option of atomizers in the future. If you're thinking of the istick 30, you might want to look at the 50w instead, just because that will open up an even wider variety of atomizers.
The decision with batteries comes into play with the minimum Ohm rating. The latest tanks have .5 ohm coils. That's not to say that you need to vape that low of an ohm, but the option is there if you wanted to experiment with that route. The istick 30 can do those .5 ohm coils and is a very good unit. But, keep in mind that the .5 ohm rating is it's minimum, and you'll be using the battery quicker. IF you're not a heavy vaper, that's not a problem. Also, you can lower the watts to get less vapor to make it last longer.
I recently bought a mini stick for "on the go" vaping. I chose the Cloupor 30w mini. It is very much like the istick 30 with similar specifications, with the exception that it takes a 18650 battery. Since I am already invested in 18650 batteries and have a few laying around, It is not as much of a problem to put in a fresh 18650 when the power levels are running low. With the istick, I'd be worried that when the battery ran out, I'd have to be tethered to a cable, or just not vape it for a few hours. The 50w is a larger device, with a higher capacity, so that would make it doable for me.
Lastly, have you thought about ordering online? Even though brick and mortar stores are nice to have to go to for support, ordering online is a good way to save half your money. Again, relating to my recent purchase, I had $60 to spend on vape gear. At the brick and mortar store, the cloupor mini was $65. I bought it online for $$35 + shipping ($5.00).. so, $40 compared to $65. with that extra money I managed to buy a subtank nano clone to go with it. So, it was battery AND atomizer for the price of just the battery alone.
Wherever you buy from, make sure they're reputable. get people's advice on the location, and shop around.
