Hello all,
I quit smoking cigs about 5 months ago, mainly due to the long-term health effects. Since then, however, I have missed it greatly and would still enjoy one from time to time on weekends. A few weeks ago I was finally introduced to the e-cig when I saw a video on youtube; I instantly knew that I had to have one. Because of my already having quit cigs, I opted to go with ejuice that didn't have any nicotine. After some limited research, I finally made a purchase of a kit with prefilled cartomizers and automatic batteries.
Due to Canada Post's wonderful delivery system, my 3-day shipment finally arrived almost two weeks later (this past Monday). After opening the box like a kid on Christmas, I charged the first battery and began to vape. At first, the cartomizer was leaking juice from the mouthpiece, but I quickly got the hang of how to use it. The "tobacco" flavored vapor did not, in my opinion, taste anything like tobacco, but was still quite pleasant. I didn't put it down for at least an hour, happily puffing vapor both inside the house and out.
The cartomizer ran out yesterday morning, at which point I promptly replaced it with a menthol flavored one, which I found to be very nice. I have vaped in the car and in several grocery and other stores and am thoroughly enjoying the experience. I am able to get a decent amount of vapor from the e-cig (more than from a real tobacco one) and it is nice to once again be blowing 'smoke' all the time.
However, there is one thing which concerns me: when I inhale the vapor, I cannot feel anything at all in my throat and lungs; it is almost akin to seeing one's breath on a cold winter's day. Is this due to the lack of nicotine, or simply the reduced temperature of the vapor? This "throat-hit" (or more importantly for me, "lung-hit") is the one thing I still really miss from cigs. Is it possible to achieve this with an e-cig? If so, will it require the use of nicotine?
