Hi All,

Well tomorrow will be my first week with my e-cig(s) so I thought I would let you know how I’m getting on.

I had been a smoker for over 20 years and for the last 10 or so years I have been smoking roll ups (Golden Virginia). I smoked around 15-20 per day. On top of this (because I work in an office and can’t get away from my desk often enough) I was also using 10-15 Nicorette micro tabs which are a nicotine replacement.

I saw a clip about e-cigs on the tv so decided to take a look. It was getting ridiculous smoking ciggies and taking the micro tabs and on top of that my 5 yr old daughter had been asking me to give up as well. The trouble is, I actually like smoking (despite what Allen Carr says). So I decided to do some research and came across these forums.

I can’t stress enough how useful these forums have been, great reviews, great people and great advice. After reading for several days I ordered an EVO from intellicig.com only to find out that it may take 5 days to arrive. Being an impatient git I ordered a pilot personal vaporiser for next day delivery as well.

As it happened they both came at the same time J

For the first two days I can honestly say that I used my e-cigs 90% of the time. I only had a couple of analogs and to be honest they didn’t do anything for me. From day three until now, I have had no analogs and I have no intention of going back to them.

I have now acquired a nice collection of e-juice, batteries and atomisers and thrown out all of my old analog stuff and am one happy e-smoker.

The only problem I have with e-smoking is knowing when to stop. A ciggie ran out, an e-cig goes on for some time J

So thanks to all who have offered advice and I hope I can do the same soon.

It's always a struggle to know how much vaping is enough.

There's no end, per se, so you just have to learn to gauge it. It takes time, and, regardless of the time you've used these things, you have to be conscious of how much you're using.

It's great that you're enjoying the e-cigs and kicking the analog habit! Keep it up, and keep us posted on things over time!

Oh it will turn into a hobby, a very expensive one if you allow it. Not that I know anything about that. ;) I know what you mean about not knowing when to put it down. I've been esmoking for 2 weeks now and went thru that pacifier stage too. That's what I call it. I just kept vaping and after a while I thougth to myself, "this is a friggin pacifier!" . But it gets better. Pretty soon you will treat it like a analog and vape less.

@ Idahojo

I already seem to have a pilot with spare battery and atomzer plus an EVO with no less than 4 spare batteries and 6 spare atomizers. Not to mention the TW Cherry, Tobacco, Virginia, Menthol and Vanilla E-Juice. THATS JUST ONE WEEK! MUST STOP!!!!!! To make it worse I found myself looking at Pen Styles this morning.

HELP!!!!

Yep, that's what I've been thinking - especially when I found I'd drifted off to sleep, reading and vaping in bed - my, how infantile!

Nemmind, it's a great comfort not to fall asleep with an analog ready to burn the house down...

:sneaky:

It's interesting and helpful to read beginner experiences. My incentive for vaping is to get rid of the obnoxious smell of stale smoke in my home and to be able to vape anywhere I want (even in my own home or those of my family). I have confined all smoking to my office at the computer for many years but, of course, the smoke permeates everything on all three floors. Another great incentive is to be able to have it available anywhere that always meant long periods of discomfort without nicotine. I do not have a problem with nicotine; in fact, there are a number of positives about the substance that are very worthwhile. What I have a problem with is the smoke and all the particulates that go with it. Another huge incentive was my last trip to my tobacco shop when I discovered my Djarum Specials had jumped from $6.30 a pack to $7.75. That is so outrageous, I've decided I'm just not going to fork it out anymore.

I do have concerns about the govt. deciding to take this option from us and the whole idea infuriates me. The exsmokers in my life behave like they are born-agains searching for converts, at least as intolerable as any anti-smoking campaigner. The first snide comment I get on my e-cigarette is liable to break the dam that has been holding back my pent-up resentment against their need to control the behavior of others (whether it's hurting them or not).
