Ok so i got a friend who's having a lot of issues with an indulgence he bought. I told him i'd ask on here to see if anybody here knows more about his issues. Im going to paste the letter he wrote to Eastmall since it explains what he's been through a lot better than i could.....

Hello,

I recent bought indulgence v2 in parts as the starter kit was out of stock. So far I'm greatly dissapointed and keep running into issue after issue. I also bought a ton of EM LR-901 atomizers and a stack of DPV9 cartomizers. When I first took it out of the package i assembled it and attempted to screw on LR-901 atomizer on the first tip that seemed like it would be the right one. However, right when it barely started to feel tight the screw part just snapped off rending the tip and the atomizer useless. I tried a new atomizer on a different tip. It seems to fit, but none of my LR-901 brand new atomizers seem to work with the 901 tip. Cartomizers aren't working either. I borrowed some V4L prefilled cartomizers and even those are hit or miss some work some don't. So i borrowed a friends LR-510 atomizer, which worked kind of consistantly, except i'm not a fan of 510s, so it's not a real solutions. I bought extra 901 tips for indulgence from US company that resells eastmall tips and still no luck.

On a different note on a full charge of the battery it seems it takes 2-3 seconds before the atomizer starts heating up and even then barely producing any vapor when the exact same atomizer on the riva 901 or riva 510 seem to be working perfectly.

I bought all my stuff so far from eastmall and i'm in love with the Riva, i just wanted something that would last longer, and Indulgence really making me feel like i wasted a ton of money on absolutely useless product.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I just posted my problems to. Ways to remedy are included:

I purchased the new indulgence with extended cup for 18650 batteries from Eastmall and have nothing but problems. The extender cups are 83 mm long and the batteries are only 67 mm long. The spring inside is only about 8 mm long which leaves about 7 mm for the battery to slosh around inside and not make contact of course. The second problem was I ordered the tips for the 901(also getting tips for the 801, 401 and 510 which were a set) but the threads did not work. The normal threads for roughly 3/16 of an inch are about 5 but the tips i received only had about 4 threads. so I contacted Eastmall and Selina got back to me. She sent out two new extender cups and 2 sets of tips taking another 10 days. They were identical to the wrongs ones already sent. Now she wants me to pay for shipping back to their us receiving center.
I gave up!! I ordered some magnets to extend the batteries and some adapters from the other tips which were in the set to the 901/KR808D1. Why does live have to be so had!! Edit Post Reply Reply With Quote Blog this Post .

If you got your products from Eastmall, get back to them immediately. David is very good in responding. I also purchased the Indulgence kit with the extended cup and 18650 battery. I have no intention of vaping at the high voltage, so have only tried the high capacity 3.7 v battery.

Everything fits fine on my unit. I did put an extremely fine coat of machine oil on the threads since they are of such a fine pitch. The spring needs to be stretched a bit for the extended cup for the big battery to work.

Mine came with 901 adapters and they work, as did all of the others. I have not tried the 401 because I do not have any attys for it.

Stuff does happen which is sometimes beyond the control of the retailer. I am not trying to defend Eastmall. If they screwed up, they should rectify the situation.

Also go to the Eastmall forum on this website and post your concerns there. Eastmall does repsond and is very conscious about their image.

I purchased an Indulgence V2 kit and an extender cup for the 18650 batteries in October 2010. I had issues with the 901 adapter not letting the Eastmall 901 LR atomizers screw far enough down to contact the center pin so they would not fire. I used a fine emory cloth and removed a bit of the threads and was able to get past that issue. I also had the issue of almost no current reaching the atomizer when the button was pressed and the atomizer would barely heat up. I tried several different atomizers and the only one that would even heat up enough to give moderate vapor was a LR eastmall 801 atty. Take the same atty and put it on my nhaler and plumes! put it back on the indulgence, hold the button forever....nada. I even switched to some AW IMR 18650 high-drain batteries and no improvement. These things are basically a battery holder and a switch so the only item that could be at fault really is the switch. I ordered another switch (thinking i could use a spare anyway) and same exact thing. I have not contacted David yet but will do so soon and report here if i hear anything. Also, i had to stretch the spring in both the short and extended cup to prevent the batteries from rattling. On the IMR batteries i used magnetic spacers since they are unprotected and a bit shorter than the original batteries.

Yes its basically a battery holder. Theres only so much that can go wrong really. Its difficult to imagine how they could get the switch so wrong as to get those results though. Can you test the resistance of the switch with a multimeter? I think the same symptoms could also be caused by a poor earth. Maybe dirt build up on the threads on the body, maybe the spring at the bottom of the battery holder not making a clean contact with bare metal because of paint or something. Just a few ideas. I've got one of the older ones and while its clear its built down to a price, it works OK.

Yup, my thoughts exactly but i hadn't had time to play with it much and hadn't had time to query Di or David about any known issues. I too suspected poor ground even though the meter showed ok so i pulled the spring and used emory cloth to clean the inside of the battery tube at the bottom and lower sides. I then used a fine brass brush to clean all sets of threads. This made no difference. I then went to checking the resistance of the switch and it would fluctuate between open and about .2 ohm. I started pressing the switch harder and harder and wiggling it back and forth at the same time and the meter would go from open to about .2ohm and then jump to about .3 ohm. I decided to use it for the entire day and "work" the switch over pretty good using really firm pressure and wiggling it a lot while using it. The harder i pressed the better it worked. At the end of the day it seemed to have broken in after almost abusing it with pressure the entire day. I can now use reasonable pressure and it works pretty well. I have not disected the switch yet (no time) but will do so over the next day or so. It doesn't appear to be a custom switch but it may be. If the internal contacts were not precise enough there could have (must have) been poor contact when pushing just firm enough to activate the tactile but not enough to get good contact.

I have not had any real trouble with my Indulgence I have the extender tube as well as the standard size. The one thing I did do was remove the plastic disc on the bottom of the switch I have 3 of them and use a little die-electric grease on the inside then made sure I tighten the disc back up, and they all work fine so far. If the plastic disc backs off even a little the button seems to lose contact. You might check that out.

Well I took out the spring scuffed up both ends lightly on some sandpaper, took the sandpaper and scuffed up the bottom of the battery tube, checked the voltage with a multimeter and I was getting 3.76 volts, put it back together and WHOA what a HUGE difference!!! As soon as altsmoke.com gets more of the hotsprings in stock I'll be ordering at least 2 =)

Thanks for the advice.

Glad you got better results from it Linkage. I think once you are able to get the hotsprings you will be even happier with it. I know mine does very well at 6v.

I talked to the folks at altsmoke and they should be getting more hotsprings in soon ! Also I took a file and filed off just a tiny bit off of the top of my 510 adapter, when the atty was screwed down all the way the pull was too hard for me, this also had the added bonus of much more vapor production and better flavor =) and I get a looser pull !

Now that this thing is vaping like a chimney I'd like to try another atomizer that I can drip with any suggestions? I'm getting my 6v kit any day now so I'd like to try dripping with a different atty other then the 510 .. suggestions?
