I am upset, other than the stiff springs I thought this was going to be a winner. Last night it just quit charging, lights up, blinks the voltage... just wont charge a damned thing and I bought it at vape bash.:-x:-x:-x

Anyways my slow 2 bay trustfire charging just fine. Don't know whats up but looks like I'll have to get a xtar VP1 now.

That sucks! I sprung for an i4, because of the reviews. I ordered it with my first real mod with removable batteries, and when it arrived one of the bays was flashing 3 leds constantly. The other 3 bays were ok, but I wanted a fully working charger. The vendor did take it back, but I had to order an i2 before I sent the i4 back, otherwise I would have had a shiny new Tesla and no way to charge the batteries. At least I have a backup now, but I'll definitely go with another brand if either of these fails.

I recently bought an i2 Nitecore charger for my daughter for her pink BB setup for her birthday. I was not impressed with the build quality compared to my Pila. I also did not care for the springs, extremely and unnecessarily stiff.

The Xtar VP-1 looks like a comparable charger to the Pila, but I've not used one. I've had my Pila for one year and have no regrets despite the higher cost. It's extremely well built. I could easily tell the difference in quality between the Pila and the Nitecore. I also prefer the spacers that the Pila uses; much easier to insert and remove batteries.

I believe the VP-1 uses similar algorhythms that the Pila does, which allows faster charging and may even prolong battery life. I have a couple of AW IMR 18650 batteries that are a year old that get almost daily use and are still going strong.

Exactly.
My Trustfire 001, purchased over two years back, for my flashlights, still goes strong. Slow, but steady - without fail. And construction wise, this oldie seems to be built very well vis-a-vis the present gen chargers.

Meanwhile, for my vaping, since I needed superfast charging of my 18650s, I bought the Soshine SC-S2 Rapid Charger based on CPF and BLF recommendations. And wow, superfast it sure is :) I'm impressed. U'll find my review HERE.
