Yes, that happens to me on this forum sometimes too. Very aggravating. It usually happens when I start a new thread but not when I'm replying to a thread.

I usually post, then immediately go back and 'edit' the post. Your 'enter' key will work when you edit. (No, I don't know why.)

Well, let me try to do it on your answer to see if it works. Yes it's truly aggravating since I cant stand folks who type out endless blocks of words.

Yes, my enter key worked just fine on this reply. I wonder if something is up w/ECF or what.
Thanks for reply.

No problems here.

See?

Enter works.

If it's a laptop or an IBM style 101+ key keyboard, turn it upside down and gently shake it.

Have a towel or something handy, unless you want to clean up all the funk that falls out.

I used to smoke at the computer when I was single. When I did that it was crazy.

Back in the day of electro-mechanical hard drives (with sizes ranging all the way up to 10MB), smoke tar was instant death for the IBM PC.

I cant seem to hit enter to start a new sentence or paragraph. It just runs all the text together which drives me insane. Is anybody else having this problem?

WYSIWYG mode doesn't work so well. Switch the editor to source mode using the A/ A button in the top left corner of the editor (Advanced Editor).

Well. If we are going into pre-history lessons here, I still use IBM Model M "Clicky" keyboards. One has a 1988 DOB sticker.

I still have a stack of 5-1/2" floppy disks and a genuine Hayes 2400 baud modem. Just in case a Zombie Apocalypse takes out the Internet and I need to get my old FidoNet BBS back online. The ECF must live and if it takes two or three days to read and respond to messages, well...

See the reply button that says "go Advanced"? Click it.
That'll open the full editor where you have all of the text, link, and picture options. In the top left corner of that editor, there is a button with A/A on it. Put your mouse over that button, and it should say "Switch Editor to Source Mode". Click it. Now you'll be able to use the return key.

This is the same editor that pops up when you start a new thread.

Nice!
My wireless keyboard and mouse are just about 10 years old. I'd upgrade, but I HATE the feel of the keys on all of the newer keyboards.

I feel old...
