I know this is almost 2 months old now, but I just saw it.

Wow. This really looks incredible. I'm so envious of this, especially after seeing the how-to pictures. It's such a great walkthrough, and I still don't think I'd be able to come up with a working model...and if it did, it would look nothing like yours.

Sure would be a great hobby, though.

Awesome job!

Dreams, thanks for the answers. I'm glad DX doesn't have a brick & mortar store.:)

Connman, can you tell me about those 'helping hands'. Sure would like to get my hands one one.:)

Hi there Sci,
Those hands or that hand is really only a hand that the index finger moves individually on. And all the other fingers are solid together but moves like the index finger does. It is only one due to the other was half eaten by a dog, kid or something like that. Gotten off a Buzz Light-year toy.

I actually took it apart for the multiple LED`s and switches it had when I found it.
It does have some small teeth marks
on the thumb but not bad. If you still want it I`d be happy to send it to you just shoot me a PM. :)

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Dreams, your how to's and tips are truly wonderful-- particularly your advice on sanding and filing has been very useful to me. Should you turn supplier, I wish you all the best, just please don't turn secretive :p.

When it comes to the brass nub from lighters, they are also abundant in cheapo/made in china/no-name cigarette lighters. I've found they work well for bottom feeding too, using just the thinnest of the tubes. Some are just like yours, but some have a slot rather than a hole in the thinnest tube and seem rather useless for juice containment. And to agree, Bic's aren't good to use at all, the pieces are too big. If it's an electronic ignition lighter, there is an added bonus of a tiny press fit spring in the end of the nub for extra distance.

Just my two cents for now please keep on keepin' on

Ooo... new feedback.... and it's good! Thank you all for the inspiration!

Like mcl5000 might be hinting at.... this mod takes a little time to build. It would make a good hobby in respect to taking your time, doing it right and ending up with a fantastic self-fed vaping mod that will last you a whole lot longer than it ever took to build it. And it's so darned comfortable to hold and use... it's worth it... it'll spoil you from using anything else. Of course.... you could always do variations of it to make it simpler. But no.... you could make it... just take your time. It is a mod that requires a lot of patience, but well worth it.

I should retrieve and post the pictures of the one (or more) that the ECF member sold in the classifieds for $28 as his home made mod to show a quick variation of it. If he had used proper tubing... it would be a working model. I think I'll do that when I get a chance.

asdaq... thank you! It is so sweet to hear that I've helped someone! That is payment to me. I knew when I started out how I had to do it to insure that whatever it is that hits so many of the Modders that choose to become suppliers and causes them to yank all their info away suddenly.... I would not fall victim to also. That is half the reason I posted the info right in the pictures. So that they could be saved by others and I could not, in essence, stoop to become a mod-nazi and say, "No info for you!". I know that whatever causes them to do that is what they felt they must do at the time and that's fine...... I just wanted a little insurance on this mod because it's just too sweet working/vaping/feeling to keep for myself. I still have not had an inclination yet to pull the info.... and the only thing I see missing so far is that I have not registered to become a supplier. A lot of those that pulled their pictures are "moved on" (banned) too... and no one can really blame them for pulling the pictures at that point.

I'll also be posting info on the Nico-Drip V1 and the 5 volt Nico-Drip but I'll probably be a supplier by then or applying and apparently those posts will have to be in the suppliers section because of that. But... the info will be there in time.

I do already have frustration in the respect that there are others... even in MadVapes now... that are selling mods and are not registered suppliers. Then, there are the suppliers that still can have their threads in the modding section and respond to them also. Then there are the members that everyone knows are also selling but they are not required to become suppliers... i.e. favoritism. Threads are even stickys! And I have only scratched the surface and am hardly aware of what is really going on out there as I have little time to read this forum as I used to. Sometimes... I think it is good that I don't read it because of this! Anyhow... it's all there for anyone interested enough to notice to see. This isn't really new info or anything. :p

Whether "moved on" (banned).... selling and not suppliers... mod-nazis..... whatever.... I appreciate these members even if I may not agree with their actions (with the knowledge I have). I'm with asdaq.... let's keep sharing all we can and keep on keeping on!

I better shut up now and post some pictures or something?! If I get "moved on"... it wouldn't be too hard to find me elsewhere for anyone interested.

And Sci has a great website where the pictures can be found all together and in order:

Dream & Chains Presents

And I'll state it here.... Sci, never remove those pictures because I've asked or begged you to! Only remove them if you need to for some reason. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My brother and I had purchased some of the brass horn switches and I thought I would post a side by side comparison of them here in this thread for anyone like me.... curious as to whether or not these might be a good switch for this mod. I don't think they would be.... they wouldn't be as easy to use or as ergonomic as the horn style already in it.
swcompare.jpg
I post this because I think these are the same switches found in many threads here that people are wanting to buy.
8,BRASS Momentary Push-Button Heavy Duty Switch,CR312 - eBay (item 290334111192 end time Jun-20-10 01:54:00 PDT)
I should have taken pics of them in a box but I didn't. If anyone is interested... I'll do that for you.
And here is another comparison pic.... Nico-Drip V2 next to a Janty that my brother and I had bought several months back in the classifieds. (non-working well talked about switch problem but we were curious to see it)
Oh.... I meant to repost this for the person asking about tubing.
18awgtube.jpg
And to Stormi..... Question for Stormi......... Have you received those dripper tips yet? What type are they? And have you drilled and installed a self feeder in one of them and used it? I've discovered some interesting things with it!!! Possibly things such as... can't flood 'em.... can hear when the e-liquid is injected enough! I'll post about it all later.
I just got the postage thingy, they are in and I have to pick them up at the post office tonight!
Great post, BTW...LONG too! ;-)
LONG?.... :lol:.... I'm just glad I don't post everything that I'd really like to discuss! :sneaky:
Cool! Grab those drip tips and install a tube like we do on the regular carts and experiment with your various tubings on your various feeders if you get the time. Let me know any results. This has been interesting my way.
About the site, if you'll pm me anything you want on it(descriptions, etc.) I can put them on there. I've got a couple of other ideas, just haven't had time to do them.:grr: And, I'm not gonna delete it(previous post). Even though you threatened to peen me about the one pic.8-o
I've got to re-do the front page & put a link on it to your tutorial. Have you got a graphic you want to represent your link?
Oh man Sci.... I was jealous of your real helping hand and now I'm jealous of your spoof helping hand... :unsure:. what is FI? Where'd you get that?
A graphic to represent the link to my Nico-Drip V2 pics..... hmm.... I'll have to think on that one. Thanks!
I've got to try to find those on ebay. Gotta get us some.
Right now I'm watching some true "helping hands" on the live video feed of BP attempting to clog their oil gusher in the Gulf of Mexico.
GlobalWarming.House.Gov | Oil Spill in the Gulf LiveCam
My brother and I could have sworn last night as we were watching it that the robotic hands were passing a peen back and forth.... then used it. I should've taken a screen shot.
We were, like, wtf?:?:
Okay.... I'm way off topic..... :glug:
Better git....
Since you got off topic, I guess it's safe if I continue for one more post.:):):)
That would have been a classic snap if you could have gotten the ROV using a peen. I'm going to have to record the feed for a while & see if they do it again.
Those hands are great. They are made of rubber, kinda fleshy feeling, & have a piece of metal running up each finger. You can position them in many ways. I had forgotten I had it, just happened to see a finger hanging over the top of my monitor. Next time you're in a dollar store, see if they have them. I found mine @ a checkout counter.
One last thing, there is a new top level domain(like .com, .net, etc.) it's .me.
peen.me & dontpeen.me are both open.:laugh:
Ok, got my drip tips...They're hard! Metal...hummm, not so sure yet! Very airy! Wait...just changed to an LR atty...MUCH BETTTER! Ok, this may be ok after all.
I got the B type but I'm used to the flat whistle tip so I keep trying to bitr it! DO NOT DO THAT! They look cool! No blue foam of course, so I'm prepared to flood the atty. I'm pretty bad about that anyway.
I wonder if I could squish the tip without damaging it? Doubt it but a thought. I got 10 so may try it later. hehe
Anyway, the juice tastes a lot purer than before, never been much of a dripper so this is new. Which ones did you get Dreams? I thought it would be more difficult to get the hole drilled being so small but my drill press punched right through it.
So, why am I reporting this? I forgot Dreams...
Stormi! Do not chew on the metal drip tips! No! Bad Stormi!
Yes! Try to squish a drip-tip! Experiment for us! I would heat it up first... do you have a torch? I would probably heat it real good with a torch and then take some vice-grips and squeeze it. The torch and heat would probably discolor it though. Hmm. Ball Peen one!!!
But no biting it! :grr:
You have a drill press? Now I'm envious again. Anyhow... I had to drill mine with my Dremel and the small dremel bits. Takes time but worked.
Why are we discussing this? Because it has been my experience that the drip-tip installed on my Nico-Drip creates a little sucky sound when I squeeze the bottle to inject liquid onto the atty. We've all probably read from people who use these as drippers (drop e-liquid from a bottle through the drip tip and onto the atty) don't quite like the way the liquid stalls in the drip tip? Well, the fact that it stalls is why, when used as an injector tip, the excess liquid gets sucked back into the tube. Also... it is why I now have a slight audio sound to let me know when I've got enough liquid going to the atty.
Don't know if that makes sense... hard to describe. I'm also trying to describe it for those people who have never used a juice injected mod.
So.... use yours Stormi...... experiment and see if what I'm saying is true. If your tubing and brass adapter are a tight seal into the tip... it should be the same.
Yet..... at the same time..... my brother says that he has read that people are raving about the Low Resistance Atomizers not flooding.
So.... I guess I need to switch to a regular atty and try it also. Which I guess is okay since it is only working intermittently since it's terrible fall the other day.
I know I'm using a lot more e-liquid with this Low Resistance Atty.... and that I don't like.
