My first thought was to wrap a piece of tape around the areas and change it often to avoid it happening again. The only reason i havnt done this is because i dont quite understand how these things work. This may be a dumb question but better to be safe than sorry when using mechs :p

But maybe someone has a better idea on how to stop it happening...Maybe using a dremel to make the threads smoother on the inside or something.

Its a sentinel m16 from fasttech with a sony vtc4. The odd thing is i bought because it had the most reviews and best ratings so i assumed it was a good bet....No one else has mentioned this problem :S Also no one seems to have ever had this problem with a telescoping mod according to google :S

lost me on that one..... the whole battery case ( except for the top inner post) is the negative side...

But, if the burr, or whatever penetrates into the battery, doesn't that "complete the connection", bypassing the switch at the bottom of the mod, or wherever it is. Since the whole battery is the negative (except the separated positive "button"), and the whole mod tube is also the negative path. Making the mod fire automagically without a cut-off switch.

I think that is what OP is saying.....
