What I think of my new ICON!!
Well, I've used my new little Icon for several days now so I've gotten a pretty good handle on what this little ecig is all about. My first impression was that it was the best-looking ecig I'd ever seen. It's well machined and very small, making it very appealing indeed to the eye. It's equally appealing to the hand because of it's size, and it's smallness is something you really can't see accurately in pictures, you just have to hold it to know how small it really is. Although I believe an ecig can be too small, this one isn't. To me, it's the absolute perfect size and heft (weight).
I used a drip tip for my first vape with it, and a new LR atty and one of the Kit batteries that came with it. I found the 'draw' was very easy, almost too easy, and smooth as well. It was very close to what I wanted in hit and vapor production. But it was when I put a regular cart with filler in it that I had the resistence I wanted on the draw and the vapor production I craved. I know why a cart with filler would give greater resistence, but I'm not sure why it also seems to increase the vapor production by just a little. Suffice it to say that whether using a drip tip or a cart, I find the Icon performs quite like a 3.7V device should.
To say I'm happy I purchased the Icon is an understatement. It's a keeper! I'm only hoping that PS will make us a new adapter for it soon. The current adapter doesn't let the atty screw all the way down, causing a visible gap to exist between the atty and the adapter. But I'm hoping we'll soon have the opportunity to purchase another adapter made just like the one on the V3, which not only makes the whole device when put together look a lot better, but also has a moat surrounding the atty to catch all the wayward juice which we know can otherwise make a mess of everything.
The button is wonderful. I love the fact that I can lock it and feel sure that it won't go off in my pocket or purse. I like not always having to find it on the side somewhere, it's just easy and convenient to use at the bottom. The batteries are great, and you can also use some of those IMR or AW batts in the Icon, you just have to know which ones among all those will actually fit in the Icon. Now if I had my way, the Icon could also take batteries that made it a 6V vaporizer too. (Keeping fingers crossed!)
The bottom line for me is that i think you can't get a better looking or better performing 3.7V ecig for the money. To me with my new V3 at 6V's, and my Icon at 3.7V's, PureSmoker has just proven themselves to be very fine ecig manufacturers indeed.
I'll just add one more thing to this review that's not on my review on the PS forum, and that's if PS would make an Icon exactly the same but would vape at 6V and with the adapter with the moat, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
