So, I was thinking yesterday about micro coils in the Kanger BCC's, and how they are kinda useless when you have to add flavor wicks to prevent leaks.
Here's a quick pictorial of how to use 5mm Ekowool wick and eliminate the flavor "blankets"
Starting off with the following. 28awg Kanthal, 5mm Ekowool, and a stripped head. The twister is/was a 2" coated paperclip. Disregard the sawzall blade til later.
Insert stripped end of paperclip into pretorched wick, turn 5 wrap coil.
Insert into wick base and tune up the wraps.
Cut a 1mm relief into the press fit end of the chimney, then press it into the base, aligning the reliefs with the wick. Without the cuts, the wick will starve and produce dry hits.
Worked out to 2.6 ohms, my first one was 2.4, I guess this one is a hair looser.
I've been clouding up all day, one and a half Protank-fuls of Legend today, not a single dry hit, no harshness, and the flavor has been incredible.
Enjoy the new Macro Coil!!
