Morning all - my new super mini e-cig arrived today and I must say i rather like it!! I think the vapour is sufficient (although i'm not a vapour hog) and its smoother than my DSE901 - so far i'm not really a fan of the "throat hit" and this is a bit more subtle so i'm happy! Not sure how well its going to do in relation to the small cartridge capacity, but I'm not a hugely heavy smoker so i'm hoping it will last my during the day at work, even if I have to fill up morning and when I get home.

I'm now in the process of filling my empty carts with menthol and coffee e-liquid from pillbox - not too sure about the menthol - doesn't really taste like menthol unfortunately, not tried the coffee yet! Unfortunately, what with me being a bit of an idiot, I managed to buy the wrong totally wicked liquid so i'm hoping I can exchange it

Now for progress... its now day 5 and i've managed to purchase two e-cigs, two lots of empty carts and three e-liquids - this is turning out to be a not so cheap alternative! lol I have however managed to reduce down to two cigs a day (not including last night when I went down the pub, drank copious amounts of JD and smoked lots of roll-ups... ooops!) At the moment i'm absolutely gagging for one by the time i get home from work :( but am working on cutting that one out too... the morning ciggy will be the last to go I think!

How are my fellow newbies progressing?!

Hi Brunette

Still thinking on further ways to deplete my credit card! Being a vapour ..... is a problem - maybe I will just wait for Trog to complete his e-screwdriver...the vapour looks amazing!

Still smoking 3/4 cigs a day but don't enjoy them so don't know why I do it! Still my intake is really nothing as I was getting to be a dangerously heavy smoker. So I am really pleased.

My 901 is holding up well, it is a good little device and I am still vaping away on it like there is no tomorrow. I think we can go the golden mile together & given time I will stop hoping the cigs will do it for me, because they never do. They just taste foul and I get disappointed each time I have one (but can't seem to stub it out!). I'm hoping to get more flavours going and to find one that I can say I love to vape. Once I am there I think it'll be really easy to just walk away from the cigs for good.

My anatomisers confuse me. Two had good draw & vapour from the start. One is half dead and another is a hard draw but okay. I can't figure out if this is normal. Maybe the 2 that are a bit pathetic just need to be used more to kind of break them in? Or maybe these things are just a bit inconsistent.

I got the VG today & mixed it around 50% with the 36mg malboro wicked - very very nice. For me it tastes smoother and not as drying on the mouth/ throat and the vapour output seems more, but I might be deluded.

I also had some edible type of rosewater lying about - so I mixed that with the VG - not bad - a little like turkish delight! It was nicotine free, but I need the nicotine so think if I get a vanilla nicotine it might make a good base for the more foodie type of flavours & the rose water might taste even nicer in combo with that.
I'm after the holy grail of a delicious tasting vape. ;)

Another benefit for me is in the past when I quit smoking and had the patch, I was at the fridge every 5 mins. I gained a lot of weight. This time I seem to have lost the need to snack altogether.

I'm off this afternoon to meet up with some mates for a coffee, where I will try to sway management to let me use my e-cig, we shall see!

Keep at it - and enjoy your super mini.:)

Hiya Ruby - sounds like you are doing well but also giving your bank balance a bashing like me!! I may get some of the VG then, sounds good if it makes it smoother as I think i'm drawn more to that!

No idea re: your atomizers - keep at it with them and see if they "loosen up" - i think i've been lucky so far as both of mine seem fine - touch wood!!

I think you are right re: flavour - once i've found something I really like then it will definitely make it easier, i'm just finding that i'm not getting the same "ahhhhhhh" feeling from an e-cig as what you get when you smoke a cigarette after a few hours and really want one!! Especially after meals, the e-cig doesn't really hit the spot, but at least i'm not trying to kill people through lack of nicotine!

The more I smoke the super-mini the more I think the vapour is actually better than the 901 in that you don't have to draw as hard and you get more vapour for your "suck" so to speak... lol Definitely a nice little bit of kit anyway, although I think i'm gonna have to give up with the menthol which isn't much better than the original cartridges... now for coffee flavour...

I'm opposite from you Brunette to where I want a throat kick but not one that kills my throat. (does that make sense?) I was a menthol smoker and just can not replicate that but Jane's menthol liquid has gotten me close enough so I finally put out my last cig 5 days ago and so far it has been the easiest quit so far. BUT there are times that I really want a real cig but I think that is really all psycological because e-cigs give me it all except for the stink and bad taste right? I am one that can not have real cigs around and only smoke 2 or 3 of them a day; if I have them I'll smoke them instead of my e-cig. The only down side to it all is I'm starting to wonder how much healthier the e-cig really is. I have felt bad the whole time; a feeling like I'm coming down with something and my head feels more stopped up now than when I smoke real cigs. My throat has been on fire everyday also. But...I smell better.lol

I have three different device that I circulate through everyday. Now I need to buy more liquid but not sure from where. I bought some VG liquid from JC but the stuff is just way too mild for me but I thought VG may help me with my sore throat. I really have no clue about the mixing my own. I want the strong taste and if I dilute it that makes even less taste so to me that wouldn't work either. And I definetly need the nictotine or to the store I'll go for real smokes. Good luck with it all Brunette and hopefully your bank account won't suffer too bad. I have definetly bought way too much but hey whatever keeps me quit I guess.

I went the other direction and got a classic to add to the 901.

The cunning plan of ordering Thursday night from e-cigs, and getting Saturday went completely wrong as it didnt arrive :(, RM love em to bits:D

The virginia fluid from Pillbox did arrive next day however, so been dripping and topping up with that(if that is the correct terms)

It has a distinctive taste, not unpleasant, but the hunt for the best fluid is still on!!

I have a load of vanilla cartridges which are disappointing, and have asked for cherry as the freebies with the classic, so will see how they are when they arrive.

But still impressed overall, and still off the rollups so a success:D

Maybe Pillbox will do a sample pack for us:thumb:

Sorry to hear you're not feeling healthy with the old e-cigs Tumbleweed, maybe that will come with time? To be honest, I don't think I feel particularly bad from smoking anyway!! I don't have a smokers cough or anything like that although I do smell of fags which isn't pleasant! lol I was having problems with a sore throat as well but the suggestions mainly rotated around diluting or using a VG liquid rather than a PG liquid - but as you don't get along with JC thats not a lot of use!! I'm actually requesting a sample pack of the JC as I like the idea of a smoother smoke, just hope the flavour is good! Maybe you could try the 36mg totally wicked liquid and dilute it a small amount with VG? I have ordered some VG today on Kate's recommendation and following Ruby's success with it!

Hope your classic turns up soon dandamegs!! Out of the carts i've tried so far I actually prefer the cherry so hopefully you will like those, still can't stand the normal tobacco flavour!

That's good advice. MNZ and Pillbox both sell extra high nicotine juice (see suppliers board), maybe get some of that and dilute by half with veg glycerine to make 18mg juice - this is 'high' by most standards. Vg doesn't give the dry throat problem. Flavourings and additives may cause irritation, I don't know for sure. Trying different flavour juice and different brands might make a difference for you. Something that also irritates my throat is when the atomiser gets too hot and cooks the juice. Try slow, gentle draws to avoid this problem. Some battery switches need a heavier draw to operate so you'll have to adjust technique according to your device.

Classic arrived today, and although the draw is much harder than the 901, I prefer it. Cartridges are huge in comparison.

Cherry is actually pretty good. Nice taste and plenty of kick.

There only really seems to be 18mg(high) flavours for it though, I was hoping to drop the strenghts once settled.

I am not overly keen on the Virginia fluid either brunette, and am also very concerned about the poor reports with the JC.

Bit stuck now, not sure which way to go:confused:

Maybe the fruity type flavours are best.

Let us know how you get along:D

I have some vanilla for the 901 if you want to try a couple

morning all - sad to say that the two e-liquids that arrived yesterday are not to my taste :( Think i'll have to take a wander to the "swaps" forum!!

Now trying to decide what to try next as everyone seems to be freaking out about the Johnson's Creek i'm now not sure that I really want to buy it and wreck my e-cig.... urgh... trauma!!

Hi Brunette

What flavours did you get?
I'm experimenting - tried Star Kays Chocolate extract with VG today - no nicotine...not bad...definite choc hit but it is an alcohol extract so it tastes like a choc liquer...well pretty near as a vape can get I think. I added some rose water - hey presto, turkish delight choc! I quite like it but my tastes are fickle. I think I like something then the next day I am not sure anymore. I got excellent vapour with this combo. However I miss the nicotine and the malaboro flavour dwarfs food flavours imo, so I avioded it. I'll have to filter this choc extract as I noticed lot's of tiny 'grounds' in it - sure to clog my atomiser! I'm having better luck with all my atomisers now as I worked out how to clean them properly. Even the half dead one seems perkier according to my husband.

Have ordered vanilla, choc, camel & more marlboro from pillbox. I think my hubby will stay with the tobacco flavours but I will move more towards the
foodie flavours. I'm still thinking vanilla will make a good base for me to try other flavours with, will see when it arrives.

I also bought a cheapie set today, e-cig plus 15 carts, 2 batts, charger and a free case for £15. 00 - will let you know if it is any good. If not I will chalk it down to a lesson learned!
Money keeps flying out on this but I comfort myself with the notion that longerterm I will still save by quitting the cigs...it's just the shorterterm...

And still I'm soooooo tempted by a janty - I really am - maybe when I finally take the leap and let go the real cigs for good (still doing 4 a day)...I'll buy a janty and justify things further...;):D

Hope you find a flavour you like soon. I don't know that we will ever find a flavour we will say we 'love'...maybe it is just persevering & getting used to one that we find is at least okay-ish...

Hi all - got the lurgy so have been sat at home feeling sorry for myself, but at least I haven't spent any money despite the obvious temptation with my pc sat here looking all tempting!

Sounds like you're going for it Ruby - i've only tried the mixed carts and the two e-liquids I bought in Menthol and Coffee - neither of which tasted anything like their purported flavours!! I'm now wondering if I should just buy some strawberry from e-cigs.co.uk and be done with it!!! I've got to return some liquid to pillbox as I ordered the wrong one (d'oh) and will be swapping for the Virginia liquid - i'm hoping I get on a bit better with it than you did dandamegs - I have so far had better luck with the fruity flavours but you never know! Still not sure whether to give the JC a chance as some seem to get on ok with it, whereas others hate it! I'm wallowing in indecision at the moment but at some point will go for it and purchase another batch.

I have ordered some VG tho, so maybe I will try to make my own at some point as Kate seems to love it so much!

As you can probably gather i'm not winning the battle with the real cigs at the mo, i've had a killer throat and the e-cig is just too harsh so i've hardly touched it :(

Awww Brunette - hope you feel better soon.

I don't know if we will ever find a taste we truly love, perhaps we just have to do our best with what's avail and adapt to it (I hope!). I'm still using regular cigs too - I'm thinking I should just put them down & walk away now as I'm wondering if they are not making it harder for me to transition myself onto e-cigs and if by using them I am not just setting up my own denial system *sigh*.

On the flavour front, I did get a nice minty flavour with Star Kay White's peppermint extract but it worries me it is an oil extract (in alcohol). Not sure about the health thing with it & I might be kissing my atomiser goodbye even though my little steamer does short work of cleaning it. The gunk was loads on cleaning. But the taste was at least REAL!;)

When your VG arrives I think you will find it helps with the dry throat and to temper harshness.

I know what you mean about JC juice - been tempted myself! I bought a cheapie e-cig on e-bay for £15.00...penstyle with 2 batteries, 15 carts, adapter & little black kit box thrown in - it is not bad at all. Good vapour & a long cart, but I must say the taste of the cart is puke-worthy! I'm topping with wicked so it is tolerable - perhaps the low nic ones will be better disguised. But I'm going to have to treat it as disposable as I don't think the seller sells batteries. Ever the optimist I figure if I get 2/3 months out of it, it's still a cheap deal. I would love one of the 4 hole generics Cashmere sells though - it sounds pukka. The janty will have to wait until I know this is the way I will smoke forever. (or until I give up - if ever.) Still, after reading Kates good post on the longerterm overall costs, I'm thinking I am just chucking my money right now by not just committing to a top model straight off (well, nearly straight off!)....
See my friend, I'm just as confused as you!;)

I'm buying left right and center throwing caution to the proverbial wind! I bought some little dropper bottles for the homemade brews too.

Gawd - will it ever end!!!???:p

Get well soon and keep chipping away at the e-cigs. We'll get there.
And I better get there very soon else the banks will be coming down on me head!

Sorry to hear that you're not well Brunette, I hope you get better soon. Hi Ruby, I'm glad you are so enthusiastic about esmoking, I think it's great.

You might find that the vegetable glycerine takes some of the harshness out of your juice. Depending on your tastes that could be a good or bad thing but it's probably best when you have a sore throat.

Some people think that to stop smoking with an ecig it is best to just stop for a day if you can. You might not want a cig after that, the taste of the ecig gets better. Then if you can do a day, why not another ... and so on.

One of my favourite things about esmoking is being able to experiment with flavours. It may be a bit costly but it's a great hobby. ;)

I'd suggest that you hold off with the Johnson Creek until the new recipe mix gets into the supply system. That could take a few more weeks in the UK. If your ecigs are working ok then you don't want to be under pressure to have to replace them, it's better to buy at leisure.

Hiya
Yes - but I have had them in the cupboard for 6 mnths and can't remember where the heck I bought them from!
It might have been Tesco's or Sainsbury's. I checked in Tesco's yesterday but nothing there - just little bottles of essence which I bought - coffee & vanilla - both are totally useless I don't recommend them.
I'll watch out for Star Kay White & if I find it again will let you know.
There is a website: http//:www.starkaywhite.com
They might know who supplies it in the UK.

Got some menthol crystals today. I'm not a menthol smoker myself but hoping to brew something half decent for my mum.

These are potent. Dissolved a small one in a base of VG, alcohol and Wicked.
Does the job well and quite like it myself!. Think I will be able to persuade her once she tries this!:)
