my portable booster

I made this prototype booster this weekend. It's an inline booster using the TI 4050c. It is not variable voltage, just a fixed 5 volts. It works really good. I wanted to make it portable so I could use it on any of my mods. I used 1/2" coupler and end caps with just enough 1/2" pipe to hold it together. It looks big (tall) but it's only slightly longer than an ego with an ego booster. It hits like a champ.

That's the only pick I have but I am going to rework it so I'll take additional pictures then. I didn't get the holes centered to my liking on the end caps. I didn't have any more so I figured I finish it as is as a prototype. I might try to incorporate variable voltage but I was trying to keep it as compact as possible. My lack of skills prevents me from getting it very small.

The lines and seams look great, I wouldn't let the off centered bit bother you. How is it sealed? I'd be afraid to solder it shut with the electronics inside for fear of melting it.

He used a pill fob.

The top pic shows it next to a 510 atty for scale.

I just used some super glue so I would be able to take it apart if I needed to. I found a great suggestion for a center hole jig yesterday so it should make centering the holes much easier next time if I ever get around to changing it. I have too many projects going on.
