Please don't judge me on this, I'm not a cheapskate. I have some rebuildable atomizers in post, which will be delivered tomorrow. In the mean time the last of my iClear 16 failed on me. I have yet to receive my Kanthal supply also. I tried to fix the dual coil inside it but didn't work out. This is the best I could come up with, and honestly it's not that bad. At best it's going to get me through the day until my shipment arrives tomorrow. :vapor:

Most of us have been there, some fortunate enough to have a shop within reach.

I, and many others, rebuild the single coil heads (for Protanks, Davides and similar) for better performance. A bit fiddly with the small parts, but not real hard, actually. In addition to reusing the same heads with new coils and wicks, you can experiment with different coils, values and wicks, and get really good performance from the single coils. Dual coils are another thing entirely. Some have rebuilt them, some have rebuilt them to single coil arrangements, and some (like me :) ) have had no luck at all.

And the true rebuildables are a good way to go. I have a couple Kayfuns in my rotation, one with a 1.5 Ω micro coil that refuses to die.... just clean and rewick for a couple months now!

I don't understand; what did you use for a coil? Thre's a coil under all that cotton right? And you use it as a dripper right?

I've down that with miniprotanks.

I have ordered Aqua, Taifun GT clone and Fogger v4. I realized Kayfun's popularity after placing order. Is the kayfun clone will be similar in performance to the original one. if not I might have wait on that a little. My next goal is to get into diy e-liquid. It's pretty expensive to purchase liquid around here. like 12 USD / 10ml.

Looks like it beats a stock PT coil :p
It's a little finicky. Too little liquid and it gets dry hit. too much and it comes out of possitive post air hole. But if I keep the coil hot by continuously vaping, it gives a decent enough vape. Nothing close to the real one though. Once my shipment arrives tomorrow, its going to the bin..[emoji4]

I used the left over coil from the iClear 16 itself. Nope there is no coil under all that cotton. Its just a single strip of coil which connects the positive post with the outer body of base. Both ends are hold in place by o-rings from the clearo itself.

1: You used the left over coil . Ok.

2: No there is no coil under all that cotton. Ok. So where is the left over coil that you mentioned?

3: A single strip of coil which connects the positive post with the outer body of base.
Not sure what that means; sounds like maybe you got the coil wire out of the coil head and used that directly; but then where did you put it? You said it's not under the cotton.

Nothing wrong with being a cheapstake. I view anybody who works against the irresistible forces of mass consumption and planned obsolescence as a smart person. If you've ever been to Africa or Cuba, people there fix everything by any means, even if it's unserviceable, and it's considered normal.

I like your fix :)

I have a SvoeMesto and a KHPro version, and both are really well made, smooth threads, good fit. Can't say about other versions.

No it's over the cotton. The coil in the clearo was badly burnt. I could only recover a small piece to run a single strip over the cotton.

Which probably makes it sub Ω, so be real careful with your power source. Soon to be rectified, yes, but until then!

I'm still trying to figure out what the he_ _ i'm looking at , regardless i say good for you , reminds me of the survival shows when they live and die on that one tiny spark and glowing ember after rubbing two sticks together for what seems like eternity .

What a nightmare that is , moral of the story , buy some freaking matches and make sure you have more than one clearo ( and one that's not in critical condition no less ) as a backup.
