My setup:

Bottoms/Batteries:
eGo 1100mAh 4.2 unregulated
mini Cyrstal ego 400mAh 4.2 unregulated
eGo Vision Spinner 1300mAh
Johnson creek Vea 650mAh
Joyetech eVic 3400mAh

Tops:
Kanger T3
Kanger EVOD
Vivi Nova
Vision Stardust
Smoktech Redux
Smoktech Hyper SRT (a.k.a. Smok R tank)
Vea cartos

Advice: Start on an eGo sized device with clearomizer (replaceable head preferred), and a sampler of juice, one that has about 3-5, and about 3mL size. I started with an Encore setup over a year ago decided to forget about it because of the battery life, and the upkeep cost of cartomizers. This is random but almost every time I'm done with a vaping session, I like to pop in a Pectin candy drop to moisturize the throat: Luden's cough drops and Hall's Breezers are two examples I know of. It helps a-lot especially if you like to vape right before bed. A big thing I'd like to point out is that the absorption of nicotine works just as well as cigars, you don't need to inhale to get your nic fix. It will be hard to fight inhaling, but it's worth it to be a little healthier.

Questions (aimed at users with more experience than me) :
1.I want to fix my issue of low vapor production and harsh hits from the Smok R tank. How would I go about doing that? I've only used thick all VG juice in it, I haven't tried something with PG in it yet. I can pinpoint it to wicking since the first hit or so is decent, but the subsequent ones are disappointing.

2. What 18650 mod would you recommend with tank construction and the ability to use 18350 for smaller size?

3. How do you modify the wicking on bottom coils to adapt with the thickness of juice? The gurgling sensation is nice, since I come from a hookah background, but getting juice in my mouth is gross.

If you're having wicking issues, and it sounds like you are with both your carto/tank and bottom coil clearos, it's probably due to the high vg juices. One thing you could try that might help with both situations is to add a small amount of distilled water to your juice to thin it out some.

Another thing you could try on your carto/tank is to punch another hole in your carto. On your bottom coil clearo, if it's a Kanger T3(and possibly the EVOD too) it comes with two "flavor" wicks sitting above the coiled wicks. You could try removing one of those to see how it does. Alternatively, if your BCC is flooding and getting juice in your mouth, you could try adding wick to block the flow of juice, but be careful of too much wick, that will give you dry hits.
