MY SICK KITTY...anyone experiences this?

5 months ago, a got a Vape and began using it. The next morning g, I lit a cigarette and after 20+ years and a pack a day packet. I put down literally overnight... Recently, my Angel, my Ragdoll Cat, Oli has been I'll. He won't eat and has lost a ton of weight and is just not acting right. Hs soft coat has begun to shead and mat; where, as a major + of the "Breed" these beautiful, blue eyed, fluffy, docile, floppy and loving creatures b also "A LONG to MEDIUM LENGTH HAIRED Cat (w/ above other features dexscribed that DOES NOT MATT nor SHEAD")!!!!
OK so Oliver has flipped his lid. Hes not himself AT ALL, and at 18lbs, he's dropped 4 lbs. Already have run to our vet (Yep, $400+ visit n a ton of blood work blah blah' Tuesday results) My fiance also smoked almost 2 packs a day for 20 years and vapes some but dropped to 1/2 pack or less? Oli has ALWAYS had smokers surrounding him. But MY VAPE? My fiancé is also exhibiting weird things; infections n worse? POINT: HAS ANYONE EVER HAD YOUR vaping HURT YOUR PET (s)??? (I'm vaping now with a regular VV/VW Glass BDC Ego STYLE @ 18/ 1.8% nic level) We do have "hobby mods" n other tanks, but I prefer described...

The smell could have been too strong for your poor kitty, no joke. I know animals are very sensitive to scents, something like vaping would be too strong for them.

Hi shannalove and welcome to ECF!

Sorry to hear about your little one. We've been cat lovers all our lives (the wife and I). The symptoms sound like it could possibly be diabetes. Certainly hope that's what it turns out to be, because it's totally treatable and you will enjoy many more years with him/her if so. We've had 3 with diabetes over the years.

Please let us know the results of the tests.

Not 1 of the dilutents? I've heard/ read of people having bad experiences with PG? My fiancé is hypochondriac but insists ("The cigarette smoke 'RISES'. The juice is OIL it sinks right down to HIS LEVEL OUR LEVEL'". Still smoking, thus obviously wabts me to still be too, thus I would not "..... or complain" about cig costs.... Ahhh HELLO, No. IWhat? Y r u swearing at me? I did not do anything. I went got what u asked 4 n cooked so u wouldn't b Hungry, especially when you're not well n feeling very uncomfortable.. U just told me u were going 4 cigarettes n brb? That's all...??? MOM is dying. Stage 4 LUNG CANCER!... Post/ Thread just flew w/o edits or my re-read. Feel like an idiot...1 in a MAJOR conundrum!?!

PG is very bad for cats.

Some say it is harmless unless they eat it, but no one knows what effect it has if they breathe it...

There are people on here who think it is funny to blow clouds at their cats. They clearly don't care about them...

I don't vape near my cat; he's not allowed in the vape room...

Thank you very much for your reply... I will know, definitely, @ diabetes Tuesday afternoon when blood results come back. "Hi $400 Sueprise Vet costs" Would have never been able to hack that "on the spot shot" if still smoking! I will definitely keep you posted! Please see, my fiancé is experiences similar symptoms as well (and his reported theory @ vapes liq's reaction, "vape settling" opposed to smoke RISING) But with Jimmy, who knows what's real and/ or what he WANTs and I can definitely tell you, me to pick CIGS back up (just in case you couldn't read or make sense of my last post, b/c I can't)

Keep fiance and cat, ditch phone ...

Go unflavoured or reduced flavour for a while and get some taurine supplements for your cat.

And hang tight till the lab results are in

K? I'll try to only vape in my office or pick someplace specific in the house. But I kinda vape all day "lightly" (more so everyday) Thus not "smoke breaks" or ""sessions". I'll try that. Like to vape lightly just on Ego battery and glass BDC tank. Rarely use the mods and not here for the most part.... But NEVER would blow ANYTHING at OLI, cept kisses

The appetite and weight loss suggest the possibility of a kidney problem amongst other things. You will know from the blood work, of course.

On the idea of smoke rising and oil moving downward, if you are vaping anything with an oil based flavoring, stop it right now.

My cat hangs out in my office all day, while I vape there, and she's perfectly healthy. That's been going on for almost 2 years now. Not that it means anything statistically...but from my personal experience, I don't think some vapor in the air will poison a cat as dramatically as you described. I think she's sick.
It IS true that you need to keep her away from the liquid - that's would be more of a dangerous dose - if she didn't puke it all up.
I hope you figure it all out!

What and where do u suggest 4 vape. I don't think mine r oil at all ("Jamie n his 'theories') Juices from 3 different places.... Just 2 b sure what do u suggest as far as juice, JUST in CASE?

Visit your local vape shop and sample their flavors at their vape bar.

N no no nonoooooo.... Nothing was "spilled" just when I'm actually vaping is the concern? Not blowing mega clouds. B/c of even the mention or idea, Iow levels n low nic liq (when I need HIGH) waiting 4 Tuesday pm 4 results has oral fixation booming. When home, my little love is stuck 2 me like GLUE, follows me all over the place? Gonna hit the sheets. If I'm sleeping I'm not vapingç right? Thanx much! Sounds like kitty is just sick. Diabetes was my first thought as well. Anyways, I'd wait on those test results before making any dramatic changes to what you're doing outside of maybe not vaping around the cat.

If it is not diabetes or something vet can pin down, why not vape outside for a while and see if kitty improves.
