One day I discovered those China websites with the very same stuff we buy for 5 to 10x more...and they offered me free shippping!

So I bought,browsed....bought...browsed some more.

Around Halloween,I was browsing casually and kept seeing those electronic cigarettes...didnt gave a second tought, thinking they were just that...Halloween jokes.

But I kept seeing more and more on all the sites I kept checking for a good deal.

Then I decided to stop and check one.

Realised they were not Haloween jokes but odd devices!

One was for sale for $21 (shipped free!) clicked, ordered.

About 3 weeks later,I got a Canada Post card in my mail box..it was here.

Oddly enough,I ran out of cigs at the very same time (had to go to the store fetch me a new cart).

Got the dog, went straight to the post office..got a single pack of analogs while there.

Went home, opened the box, read the instructions...put it on charger but the light went green right away;what the hell, lets try it.

I puffed on that thing a few times troughout the evening then realised it was bed time and that my pack of analogs was unopened...I didnt smoked!

Went all week like that w/o cravings.

At the end of the week the 5 carts that came with it were dry...ordered more but it took 3 more weeks...no cravings (but its a normal process, you get hit by cravings a little further down the road).

Then I discovered through the net and a bit more searching that several options were offered, even local ones.

Saved.

Rest is history.

P.S.

This was purely unintentional.

For me it was a little more deliberate, although the discovery of the existence of E-cigarettes was accidental. I came across a thread about them on a local forum (The Computer Mechanics, if there are any southern Ontarians who know/remember them form their cable 10 show). Specifically a thread about Blu cigs. I was intrigued enough to check their website out and even went so far as to put together an initial order to try them out, since I'd already tried numerous other ways to quit and none of them worked, but this looked like it had great potential. But then I discovered they won't ship to Canada and that idea was scrapped. For some reason it never occurred to me to Google alternatives.

But the topic of E-cigarettes came up again on the same forum several months later and in a more generic sense. That did kick off what ended up being a week long research-fest whereupon I discovered not only that there were numerous different kinds of E-cigs, but that there were E-cigs and liquid available not only in Canada, but virtually right in my own back yard, to boot. Ultimately ordered my first eGo kit from Jack at Happy, late on Wednesday (along with a few bottles of generic tobacco liquid from the erstwhile Vapables), and I had my stuff Friday after work. Tried it out and my experience was pretty much the same: I hadn't planned on quitting because I had no idea how this was going to work for me, but the next thing I know it's midnight and I haven't had a cigarette.

And that was pretty much that. I did fall off the wagon for a few months (a bit of a story in itself) but came back full force last April and haven't looked back since.

You name it I tried it. Patch, gum, candy, cold turkey, laser, hypnosis, cutting back, quit smoking classes, zyban. You name it.

I gave up on quitting. Figured I was a life long smoker.

Figured I would try an e-cig. Not to quit but to cut down. Got my first one and 3 days later I threw away what was left of my pack. I certainly wasn't smoking them. Never regretted it.

I am now down to 0 nic. That was easier then I thought it would be. No plans yet to give up vaping. :)

Hehe,yes!

My take on vaping (as far as I am concerned) is as follow:

Almost everybofy like sweets...I cant hardly leave my PVs alone for that same reason...vaping sweets.

We cant possibly stop completely as long as we vape something we very much like (another form of craving!)

Kinda raw,but right now its the best explanation I came up with!

Grats for the 22 months!

So,lazer is not permanent?
I was doing 4 on 4 off day/night with a 1 hr commute. Coffee was my trigger. I was told I had to get off caffeine for better results that I could not do on graveyard. There is the occasional booster you cab get, its like going into emergency ward. Unfortunately I was not available (shift work) to go when I needed to go etc... But ecigs yup it works :)

Mine was pretty funny i guess, i heard about e-cigs in informercials with those scam subscriptions, it pretty much made me dismiss e-cigs in general because i knew they where scam subscription things. Its only after i found a article in the newspapers about the government wanting to ban ecigs and how many ex smokers are saying that they actually work well for them. Thats when i started googling everything about e-cigs, alot of bad review of paid review sites later, i found the ecf and been here ever since. First e-cig was the eGo-T type A.
