OK, I just had a frustrating few weeks with atomizers, and thought I'd share my observations.

A quick history...tried to stop smoking a year and a half ago, got a 901, then a 501, then a 501 mega, but never stopped smoking. I liked the 501 better than the 901, but it just wasn't "enough", and my vaping really didn't "take".

A couple of months ago I decided to give it a go again, and got both the Riva and the eGo, along with some LR attys. Now THIS was what I was looking for. With the LR attys, the ZFM mod, as well as some great juices (Backwoods Brew and Alien Visions), I finally was able to stop smoking and really ENJOY vaping.

I loved my LR attys, but the few I had ordered from Heaven's Gifts saw VERY heavy usage and I didn't maintain them quite as well as I should have. They were real troopers, and consistently put out great vapor until I burned the wick on a couple and couldn't get rid of that burnt taste. So I decided to order some more.

After ordering some LR atty's from Eastmall, I realized (yes, I'm a little slow) that there are different brands of attys (!) and not all are exactly the same.

The Eastmall LR attys were fine for regular vaping with the standard polyfill, but using ZFM I just couldn't reproduce the taste and vapor I was used to with the Heaven's Gifts attys (which I found out were Joye).

So I ordered some SLB attys to try them out. They were a little better for the ZFM than the EM attys, but still not what I was used to. So I finally ordered some Joye LR attys from LitecigUSA to see if I was just crazy or if there really was a difference between all the attys. I was getting pretty frustrated, so I really hoped that the Joye's pulled through.

Both the EM and SLB attys had a weird taste to them, and even after blowing the primer out and "priming" the attys with PLENTY of juice, I just couldn't get it to taste right with my ZFM mod. They tasted fine with just regular polyfill, but I knew from before that I could in fact a proper taste with the ZFM, and I just wasn't getting it. I even tried the usual atty cleaning methods (alcohol soak, vinegar soak, peroxide soak)--nothing made them taste the way I was used to.

Well, I got my Joye's today, and I am in heaven. I have had no problems replicating the taste, TH, or vapor production. I have had no problem with any weird taste or anything like that.

For me, the Joye's are where it's at. With my vaping habits, juices, and cart mod, they are the ones that give me what I need. And just to clarify...there was nothing WRONG with the SLB and EM attys. They just didn't replicate the vaping experience I was USED to.

So, I have about 15 unused/barely used atomizers I need to get rid of!!!

Interesting observations. Do you happen to know if all of the various attys from various manufacturers were all the same resistance? I only recently tried my first LR atty and it was touted as 1.7 ohm. Since then I think I have seen reference to 1.5 ohm, 2 ohm, 2.2 ohm 2.5 ohm. I had no idea there were so many levels of LR. Either that or I am trippin'

I'm not fancy enough to measure ohm levels (yet). I'm sure that may have something to do with the differences between the attys I tried, but there also seemed to be a difference in wicking ability. I may be wrong, but it certainly seemed like part of the problem I was having was the other attys weren't wicking quite as well.
