My twist is gone.....

I think I've been lucky with my ego twist....had it about 5-6 months! Today.....while stealth vaping in the ladies room at work....yeah well, I dropped it in the water. It's really been a good 5-6 months, but it's dead to me now....lol. I use it when out and about and at work and it is a great vape, now using a regular 600 (i think) no twist battery that I won. I am glad I had my backup!

My nonsmoking/nonvaping husband can't wait to start rebuilding my kanger heads and get into DIY. I'm lucky

Grats on the six month mark! Sorry to hear about your twist taking a swim, 'tis a sad way for a good rig to commit suicide. (I'm gonna refrain from making jokes about what your coworkers thought you had been eating the day before). Anyway, it sounds like a great excuse to upgrade!

It is always a good idea to have a backup of some type. Sorry about your twist, but you did get some decent life out of it. Had one that went under in three weeks and I have a couple that are now going on 4-5 months. They are unpredictable.

I've read that they are unpredictable and I'm glad I got a good long use from it! Surprised me really. Just wondering how long it would have lasted if it didn't go for that swim lol.

Just had to add my sob story. I'm sure it happens more often than any of us would like.

I dropped a twist in a machine coolant tank at work about three weeks ago. I attempted to quickly dry it with compressed air, and let it sit on top of a very warm transformer case the rest of the shift. Tried it a few days later, and it was dead.

Just happened to me again about an hour ago... Going through the same process, now. I guess I'll see.

I've broken or drowned 3 twists now from dropping them. I think I just need to build a rugged battery for work, and find a good place to carry it on me.

And what are the odds of this? It slipped to the bottom of my purse, and turned where the button was facing the bottom of my purse. Even though I didn't drop it 2 stories down, .. somehow it was enough to smash the button face backward up into the opening around the button. No way to pull it down. No way to rebuild. The button finally stayed on until I could almost see it sputter and die. A violent death for such a good device.

I'll be using my case from now on.

My original non-Twist Joyetech batteries are going over a year.
I don't remember when I got my Twist but I did try to kill it by dropping it and pushing the button in, but was able to fix it.

Got my vamo in shorty mode, full size charged battery and extra part in case short battery dies too soon.....my 600 something battery, my mini ego, regular and mini kangers tanks, and three bottles of juice. So since my twist fell into the bowl (after flushing) I stood it up in the wired desk accessories thingy that I keep my vaping stuff in and it got knocked a little and I saw.........the light flashing a couple of times! I was like this thing is dead.....I tested it. I picked it up and started vaping with it, it is now charging. This twist was a great vape for me while traveling around not at home. Would you still use it?

Clean water is effectively an insulator at vape voltages. And apparently it was dry enough to not fry anything when you turned it on by vaping, or when you charged it.

I'd say you lucked out, and keep on using it. While keeping an eye on it and having a backup.

But I wouldn't keep it as a backup, because I wouldn't trust it

I'd use it....in a heart beat, after a good cleaning. With a back up, or as a back up to a back up...LOL.
Besides I think I remember reading about a student's science project that compared the germs found in an average public toilet bowl to the germs found in an average ice machine at a fast food restaurant. (or was that just a bad dream)

I drooped mine in the ladys room also but thats a whole different storie. ;-) Check this out The Joker 5 VOLT FV Its about the same size as a ego1000 mah its American made. VV great little mod will last for years. Congrats on your milestone.

I would take cotton balls or Q-tips and very thoroughly clean the battery contact area with alcohol. The rest of it also, but the battery end mostly. Give it an hour for the alcohol to evaporate and vape away.
