I just recently got a steam turbine as a Valentines day gift, and I have never done any rebuilding before....Im going to post pictures of my very first attempt at a single coil rebuild. Im planning on using a cotton wick...any suggestions on that? (I've already boiled my cotton balls twice in distilled water.) any critics and such would be much appreciated!! Thank you!

I've gotten some funky tastes from unboiled organic cotton. All organic means is its grown organically. I have got some that had latex in it. CVS has sterile rolled cotton that is 100% latex free, that may be a better choice if you have trouble finding organic cotton that tastes good right out of bag.

Usually after about 5 mins and it getting good and saturated the cotton after taste is gone. I use CVS organic cotton balls. Krystal kay, make sure you listen to these people. Nobody will advise building coils on that nemmy and not checking ohms. Hopefully you are, what resistance is your first build?
The CVS organic cotton is Organic cotton like you said but most places that sale organic cotton still use bleach or alcohol to sterilize the cotton. So if your thinking about possible health concerns its probably a good idea to boil the cotton first then set it on some paper towels to help dry. Hope the OP gets some good ideas for wicking material from this ;) i personally use organic cotton as well. I find it brings out more flavor and i also get more vapor it seems... Really easy to change the wicks and then dry burn with the cotton pulled out as well. Nice looking coil BTW OP

Sounds like you're all over cotton prep. +1 on the idea of using it for wick (especially since you've already twisted and mounted your microcoil).

Any particular reason you went with a horizontal coil? I ask only because it's easier to wick those genny-style RTA's with a vertical coil that lines up with the wick hole. You can certainly do it with cotton in a horizontal coil, but it means more futzing with tweezers to get it positioned through the coil and into the tank.

Enjoy this next level to your vape game. It's very rewarding and you won't look at another carto or clearo the same again.

Honest engine, no i don't have an ohms meter. Please all- be gentle. If i had it my way id have one right now, but i can't keep throwing money at my vaping. i know its really important to have one- mandatory even, but right now i can't afford one. :( Im doing the best with what I've got. (also, i think I'm going to just boil my cotton balls no matter what, better safe than sorry.)
