oh wow nice, i bet it's worth a lot!

I've seen the US version (this was made by Zenith as an export version of the American 9-S-30) go for about 1.5k. This one is probably worth a little more than that due to the fact that they made fewer of the export version and the circuitry is a little different from the more common American market set.

The best part (aside from the fact that the radio is working excellently and the refinish on the cabinet makes it look brand new) is the iPod jack that I had the repair shop add to the phono circuit.

Great radio! :)
Couldn't make out much on the tuning dial. Looks like it includes shortwave, which used to be fairly common. Long ago, in another lifetime, I had a Communications Receiver (Hammarlund HQ160). It wasn't purdy like your Zenith is, but I spent a lot of time listening to SW on it.

Very nice. I'm sure you're proud of it, and rightly so!

About 20 years ago I was a heavy SW enthusiast. No ham, just SWL. I owned a string of what were then modern Sangean and Grundig shortwave sets. When the Internet hit most of the big international broadcasters went dark. Now it's coming back some. Currently my main setup is a Hallicrafters SX-100 like this one:

Not my photo.

But yeah, the Zenith receives shortwave. Because it's the export model it has four bands of reception including what was the entire shortwave spectrum at that point. I've got it hooked up to my external antenna right now and I'm just waiting for dusk to try out the SWL. In daylight all I'm able to get is WWV (the NIST time server out of Fort Collins, Colorado) and a station broadcasting out of Caracas. Should be able to pull in more once it starts getting dark in about three hours.

I love vintage radio's. Here's my 1948 Philco shortwave and Columbia Grafonola. Both in excellent working order.
