Ok but let's say I use some 83-85% liquid which is probably already cut with a little water and PG, would I be alright?

I'm using a similar wicking method with 80VG/20PG and it's just fine (rba v2 deck). No dry hits at all, nice flavor and wicking...all the time.
i went back to not threading the wick thru the holes. to me it seems i was not getting enough juice flow to the coil. i'm using 7 wraps of .4 mm ti and max vg juice. mouth to lung hits might keep up but i'm a lung hitter with my koopor mini. i get better hits wicking the "standard" way.
Maybe because of the 4mm you have more wick to put in which causes your juice to not flow too well?
Does it work with the new style rba heads with the holes in the side and the set screw?
Some have Good Results with it. Other Prefer the WITH (Wick in the Hole TM zoiDic Industries Inc.) Method.
i really like that pancake. best method i've tried so far. i have a goblin mini coming and the only deck i've built on is the stm for about 2 months. will the pancake method work with my gmini when it gets here?
You can Try it.
I've found that if the Deck on an RBA is similar, and if the e-Liquid enters the Deck in a Similar way, that what worked on One RBA Tends to work on the Similar RBA.
But if they are Not Similar, then what worked on One might Not Work on the Dissimilar One. And Many Times Doesn't.
The Goblin Mini is kinda PITA wicking wise. Find what works, at it is a Fantastic Tank in a Very Cool Size. But when the Wicking is Not Working, then it can be Evil. And dump e-Liquid all over your Mod.
