Mystery Liquid Flavor?

Ladies,

I hope someone can help me solve a mystery. Two months ago when I got my first 510, I ordered several liquid samples in different flavors. All were the typical packaging you get in Chinese liquids - small plastic dropper bottles with a paper label with flavor name and a little picture on it. One flavor - caramel - came in two smaller bottles with a very small label and nothing else. I figured they ran out of other bottles or something.

Caramel quickly became one of my favorites, so I ordered 4 more last week. It arrived yesterday, and all 4 bottles not only taste completely different, but they are a different color. The new liquid is an orangey color, and it doesn't taste anything like caramel to me. In fact, it tastes exactly like the caramel I got from eliquidplanet recently, and I didn't like that, either. The original liquid was more of a honey color, and tasted like sweet caramel - I loved it!

Any idea what flavor the original liquid was? I think I must have gotten something mis-labeled, but I can't figure out what it was. Maybe RY4? I've heard it tastes like caramel, with nut and tobacco flavors. I didn't notice those, but who knows?

It may have been RY4 with added caramel. We did that, I added like 3 pipettes of Lorann's caramel to our RY4 and it is super yum!

Could the really sweet one been honey? RY4 doesn't really taste too much like tobacco, it's a not as sweet caramel flavor.

I don't know - it didn't taste like honey - it tasted like caramel! All the juices I've gotten that are supposed to be caramel don't taste like caramel. Very frustrating. Too bad for eastmall - if I knew what this stuff was, I'd order it by the gallon!

I just ordered som RY4, so we'll see if that's it. I doubt it, though.

what size pipette? I have 3ml ones

Well, it's definitely NOT RY4. That came last week, and while it's interesting, it's not on my favorites list. Geez, I can't figure out what this flavor is! It's driving me crazy!

I went ahead and ordered some flavors from Dawn at diyflavor shack. Hopefully, I'll get something good out of that batch. I ordered double flavor whenever she offered it. I've got so many flavors I don't really care for now that I'll have to post some on the swaps section.

I had a bunch of Eastmall samples, and you might have had their cappuccino. It wasn't really coffee-y, but it sure was caramel-y.

Sounds like they tend to mix up their bottles from time to time. What, poor quallity control from China??? I'm shocked!

Um, yeah...got rushed on a job and ended up accidentally damaging flight hardware. Only about $80 in total damage, but the embarassment factor is off the chart. It could have been MUCH worse. I felt like a total buffoon.

After dealing with management and the safety folks, I truly felt like someone had put sand in my vaseline, as we used to say in the service.
In the end, it was my own damn dumb fault for not paying close enough attention to the job at hand. Mea culpa.............

Funny thing, though, a few months ago after something like this, I'd be back at the smokers' shack sucking down 3 or 4 cigs...in 20 minutes. Now, I just excused myself to the ladies' room and vaped for a few minutes. It seemed like I needed less nic to get me through the rough spot. Maybe that's the silver lining in all this. I seem to be coping better with life's little "headaches" than I was before. And on less nic. So there ya go.

ok, that was bad..but it was caught and fixed! Thank goodness..8-o

I used to work at Walgreens as the electronics manager (small appliances, watches, tobacco and electronics) We got a brand new computer style cash registers put in the store, whoo hoo those were the days! (1975)
The plug behind my counter couldn't be recessed because of my metal counter so it stuck out. On Christmas eve at 5pm I was running back and forth trying to help the 50 last minute shoppers when I tripped over the plug..anyone who has ever known me , knew that was gonna happen.

All the registers went down at once (in-line) even the liquor store. My boss went ballistic and was threatening to kill me! He had to call home office to start a reboot and meanwhile the liquor store manager came over and added to the mess by screaming that she has 30 people in line waiting to check out..it didn't help when I told the skinny, over made up shrew to pop some beers and hand them out!

People were throwing money at me for who knows what purchase and it was a free for all in every sense.

The other girls at the registers couldn't figure out tax or make change without a computer.
After we closed an hour later, the computers came back up..just in time to start the end of day run. We just put the money that was found on the floor and on the counters in the safe to figure out later.

I all but ran out of the store while my boss screamed curses on my head.

Now do you feel better? We all have days like "that"8-o!

Was the liquid from Eastmall? The last time I ordered I got one flavor in different bottles than the rest were in (they were smaller and just had a name label with no graphics at all.) But, I had mainly ordered to get hubby more RY4 that he liked. I had bought it before, but when I ordered again the RY4 was totally different, and he hated it. I contacted Eastmall and they were really nice about it, and said they were trying a new brand, but if hubby hated it they would send out the RY4 we got before.. and they did. So.. if it was Eastmall that you ordered from.. you may have gotten a batch of the 'new' liquid they were trying?

Yes - that's exactly it! Eastmall "caramel" in 2 smaller bottles instead of one larger one - with the same generic label you described. I just figured they ran out of bottles or something. It was my first purchase from them, so I didn't know what their caramel normally tasted like. If this was the "new" recipe, I really like it! Not so much the "actual" caramel I replaced it with. I think I ordered it in late July.

Wow, I wonder if they have any left? I'll have to email and ask. Thanks for the tip!

MK - Yes, I'm feeling better. Once I got over all the ribbing from my co-workers, we all had a good laugh about it a few days later. The hardware was easily repaired, and you'd never tp look at it that it had had a run-in with Hurricane "Rocket". Tee-hee! Thank God I don't work at Wal-Mart - that day sounds absolutely horrible.

So glad we (maybe) solved the liquid mystery rocketvaper! I just ordered from them again last week, so hope the RY4 we get is the 'oldie but goodie' that hubby likes.. and they save that other one for you!

I've ordered from China several times and never had a juice issue or mix-up. Could your strange flavor have been butterscotch or peanut butter? Being late to this thread, I just wanted to mention that not many suppliers have peanut butter, but Eastmall's is very good. (To me, at least....it seems that everyone's taste buds are so different.) It's interesting to read about all the reactions and descriptions of the various flavors. Choice is a beautiful thing!
