For some time now I've been looking into e-pipes.One of the most attractive sites where someone can buy one is mythicalfabrications.com. Their variety in pipe designs is great and I was thinking of ordering one.The problem is that when looking around for further information I've come across conflicting opinions. Some complain about their customer service, others about delays or button issues while, on the other hand, many are satisfied from dealing with them.So I would like in this post to share your experience with them, to clarify myths from facts.Cheers...

I started trying to order from MF in January but they were having problems and their website would not process my order. After two weeks of trying this, I emailed them and asked how I could get my order to them. They asked me to email it in. I emailed an order in but after four weeks with no word, I emailed to inquire about my order only to find out that my order never got processed (even though I emailed back and forth with a live person and gave them my order in great detail). They acknowledged that this was their fault and if I would send my order again, they would process it "right quickly". I emailed another order and paid for it with PayPal. Now, Mythical Fabrications has had my payment for almost 3 months. They keep posting on Facebook and/or YouTube about one issue after another after another. They also posted that they aren't answering emails (I emailed, asking for an ETA) because they are behind and are trying to limit distractions. So... they won't answer a simple email from a customer that has had NO word from them for almost three months but they somehow keep finding time to post on Facebook and YouTube.
All I can say is "this has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a customer oriented company."
What a shame though, their e-pipes look very cool.... I hope I get mine one day.

I am not happy to hear this, like the OP, I was looking to order from them as well. They have exactly what I wanted, I good looking wood pipe that can take a 18650 battery in the $150 to $200 Price point.

I am going to keep watching them to see if they can solve their issues, but for now not going to place an order and I will keep looking.

Anyone know a good place to find a good looking wood pipe that can take a 18650 battery in the $150 to $200 Price point. I keep looking at epipemods, but I have not seen an 18650 in my price point (And very few of them when i do see them)

I have ordered from MF (back in Feb) and am awaiting.
Also emailed a 'few' times with no response.
I came here to try to learn what was going on with MF.

Thank you for putting up the post!

I have no problem with waiting a little longer for something I will own and cherish for a lifetime.
Just do get a hold of me and let me know the order has not been lost.
That's all I've been looking for with my emails.

Honestly, if I were you I would look at a 18500. Such a pipe is PLENTY big enough even for sasquatchian hands. ePipeMods does a number of 18500's with most releases.

If you want something custom for 18650, try these guys: Freight Train Mods - Home Sam is a good, dependable guy that I have never seen a bad review for and his pipes are excellent. They do a 18650 and currently have an open cue for one with a DNA 30 in it (VV/VW). Check the order options on the right side of the home page and you can order one today I beleve!

If you are looking for a more affordable price point, but something nonetheless handmade, the Pipe Smith is a terrific guy and his Woodsmen series are handmade and start at like $75. PipeSmtih - Custom E-Pipes, Pipe Conversions, DIY E-Pipe Kits

Good luck!

MF facebook post;

"That moment when you do a whole order of pipes.. And after they wired and glued... Notes come in that say they now need to b argent upgraded. Time to de solder all joints, heat the glue to release the connectors and redo ALL OF IT OVER AGAIN...... -.- well, good practice for fixing broken pipes.. Lol"

I have seen them in person. Just my opinion, but I think they look ridiculous.

I can see how they look in the picture but WTH are they? (I go to gatherings where people light fires by rubbing 2 sticks together (in 20 seconds) and call for assemblies by blowing a conch, so these might not look that odd in such a group.) A button top is self-explanatory, WHAT are the drum tops? What do you push? What happens when you push whatever you push?

V1 - small spring at the bottom of the bowl that the battery sits on and makes the connection between battery and copper/brass disk at bottom of bowl. Top of battery sits a bottle cap that has had it's edge flattened out and "floats" above a copper ring at the top of the bowl. The leather cap (held in place by a strand of sinew) is above the bottle cap holds everything together. Pressing the top depresses the battery and bottle cap which makes contact with the copper ring.

So to replace the battery, I'd have to untie the sinew, replace battery, put everything back together, re-tie the sinew? I assume such a setup would never in a million years include a charging port for the battery:glug:
