I have two TC mods but don't like the "regulated" experience so continue using mechs most of the time. My outdoors/work mod is a regulated TC Invader mini 50watt, I've not noticed a difference in coil life/gunk build up but run pretty hot at 385F (Titanium wire), which might be why. With my NETs coil buildup/gunking isn't really a problem, it's wick saturation where after 10 - 15ml of juice the wick has trouble "wicking" properly (fast enough), and flavor begins to drop off/mute. Normally the coils are only lightly soiled at that point. TC -VS- mech seems to make no difference when it comes to wick failure as far as I can tell.

EDIT: Since I don't really care for regulated/TC mods and only use them when out working I'm still a novice when it comes to using TC, someone with more experience in their use may be able to obtain better results.

It's funny you mentioned the wick failure as that is something I've noticed as well but wasn't if it was just in my head. I appreciate you confirming that for me. I have also found that though I'll start well at 430f, after about 3ml action falls off considreably and improves once I bump the temp to about 460f. Running 28ga Ti 2.5mm 5/6wrap in a Kayfun v4. I want to thank you by the way for all the good info you give on the extracts. I'm hoping one day to run across some high proof booze so I can give the PGA methods a try and I'll have you to thank for the outcome.
