After messing about with the Smoktech RSST for about three days I FINALLY got it right! With a lot of help from watching Pbusardos videos in particular and going through many of the posts here in the forums I got the 400 SS mesh wick just right and the 28GA kanthol 3/4 wrap just right without any hot spots on the Smoktech Natural and this setup is AMAZING! So to any rba n00bs like me out there, don't give up! For the love of vaping don't give up, if you are frustrated just set it down and go back to what is working for you be it atomizers or cartomizers or clearos for a few days (or hours in my case) until you get the drive to make it work. It is everything that people rave about, rba's...this is the beginning of a wonderful relationship.

Congrats man! sounds like fun, I'll get there eventually.
I don't have an RBA, but does rewicking my (Stardust?) and Vivi Nova Mini with Cotton count?

This is my first experience with any type of RBA but I have to imagine that any experience will help when dealing with rebuilding anything. Good luck friend!

Just spent 5 hours building a wick and coil for a new aga t2. first time trying and finally got a working setup. definitely not the best, but vapor comes out, so I will take it. will try again tomorrow, and hopefully it gets easier!!

Good job op!

Took me a few times as well. Two burnt coils and a couple hours later I had a ok vape. Takes me about 10 minutes from start to vape, sometimes they fight me and they give me trouble.

Don't forget you can get shorts on the wick too, if you're using SS mesh. Didn't realize that until I noticed a vertical glow on the wick itself from one coil stretching to another. You'll see the cross behind the coil when it happens, just nudge it up or down a bit.

Just built a 1.3 ohm coil on my AGA-T2 after my last coil developed a hotspot near the top that sagged the wire a bit, which seemingly destroyed it. I've been trying to push as many volts on my Provari as possible to get those giant vapor clouds, used an ohms calculator to try and get just under the amp and watt limit. Decided I get a better vape at lower volts, got it set at 3.7 right now, ironically. It's currently got a silica/SS mesh hybrid wick in it, wicks like a champ, better than SS mesh alone IMO.

Just don't give up, and tackle it when you've got some spare time.

I've also got a 1.6 ohm coil on a hybrid wick in an IGO-L, amazing little dripper. I just didn't like burning silica wicks and SS mesh doesn't always keep up.

Grats on the success!
