Hi...

I finally got some stuff to brighten up my boring black eGo(s):
metallic nailart pens, some templates for skulls, flames and
dragons and also 2 gold/silver nets.

While I could read, that "top coat" should be used when its
finished, I wonder, how I have to prepare the surface of the
attys for the net or other things, that don't stick themselve.

Is there something like a "primer" I should use?

Hi Willi,
You didn't mention what the finish is, and if you're really applying to the cartridge or battery?

You could use a nail buffing block (this would have the finest grit, then apply your decals, etc. I wouldn't recommend using a top coat on your attys because of the heat, but that shouldn't be an issue for the batteries, you should be able to top coat those with a little clear nail polish, or you could also use a clear polish with glitter in it for more sparkle!

Ooops... I smell a language barrier

The "art work" is finished, when all painting etc is done.
"The finish" is the last layer (nail varnish, nail polish),
that should ensure, that "artwork" is protected a little bit.

- eGo batterys
- eGo atomizers (XL/Big)
- eGo Cones

I'll do some tests to find the right transparent varnish/polish, so that's
not a point.

I have an idea to do something like described here :)oops: sorry, german)

It needs a net/grid like this.

The "panty mash" doesn't stick itselve to the underground without glue,
so I need something to make it stay there. (underground = eGo-part).

They talk about a "primer gel", that doesn't dry to fast, but I'm not sure,
whether I can use something like that, as for drying/hardening it seems
to need UV :?:

I didn't do any translating on that web addy, and I suspect this is a site for nail supplies to techs! (15 yr nail tech veteran here!) Looks like you're referencing the "gel" which is actually a nail extension product which is either sculpted or applied over a nail tip then baked on thru a special uv light

I don't think you need any type of primer here at all.

PLEASE NOTE; The following I only recommend for the batteries only!!!, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS TO THE CONE OR CARTRIDES, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!

Sray glue [/B] (applied to only the back of the flat/flexible items only that you want to apply for the battery portion only[/B], (this will make a temporary removable hold and allow you to see if you pieces parts fit back together properly and that your batt fits back in the charger, before adding any do-dads and have fun.

I recommend against doing anything with the cones and carts involving any type of glue, spray or otherwise as these can and do get warm/hot.

But the net/grid won't stay in place and if a "spray glue" hardens too fast,
it might get difficult to arrange the not self-glueing net/grid.

....and allow you to see if you pieces parts fit back together properly and that your batt fits back in the charger.....
hm..., seems you don't know eGos/Tornados...
The parts will always fit, as any "artwork" is outside/away from the thread.

Please, can you spent some seconds to explain, why I shouldn't use nail
varnish/polish there?
Will it bubble or get liquid again cause of the heat?
I'm just a stupid male, who doesn't understand this warning, as I've seen
lots of pics, where girls brighted up their attys with sticker, tattoos and
nail varnish through templates this way.

Spray on adhesive stays flexible, when dry it has a tacky finish

Just heard this was an issue with some mods, and I'm only familiar with my rn4081, I've heard screwing you batt into the charger could be an issue with not making a good connection for charging. Does this make any sense?

From what I've read on the forum, alot are using what is known as a water slide decals. They can be made permanent by topcoating with clear nail polish, or not. if you don't you can remove later and change these out with your taste

That gave me an idea and after a short resaerch I found these two "papers":
Inkline InkTattoo and Inkline InkVinyl.

Seems I will print my own decals - even if only as templates for nailart-pens :)

Thanks for the inspiration, Vchick:toast:
The next bad weather period will be awsome creative
