Quite easy guys. I totally dismantled it including the 510 pin and rubber insulator and gave it a chemical strip for 30 min and with the aid of a small brush got all the paint easily off.

A good wash with hot soap water and a scrub with a clean brush and then sanded with a 3M soft sanding pad in one direction (vertical) and she looks beautiful and feels great

Nice job there Capt... I did this to my first grand. I will say that the look is very good, but maintaining it is a chore. I find mine scratches quite easily and have to brush it out every now and again. It has been a while since I have done it though. Great looking mod though...

I suspect that but I believe that if you use the right grit it should withstand some more abuse. I've done mine with either 150 or 180 grit but if you use 90 to 100 grit I think it should hold up better as t's not as smooth as with the 180 grit. I'll see how it holds up and I may try the 90 grit on it
