I just got a new DCT and after about 3 hours worth of vaping with it there's a horrible burned rubber taste.
I'm using this tank with low res cartos on a 3.7v Bolt.

I tried putting the same tank on my ego and the same thing happens.

It's the same nasty rubber taste that I get from a rubber drip tip I got (for free thank goodness). I'm talking worse than burning tires kind of stink :(

By the way...never did get the stink out of that drip tip; hot soapy water, hot water with baking soda, vinegar...nothing kills that stink.

Lastly, is there any other material O-rings to use? Silicone perhaps? anything other than rubber? And if so, any links to a site to buy them?

I've discovered that if you do not keep the flow hole open on the carto, you're going to get that burnt taste. You have to keep these things right on the edge of flooded. If they start to taste dry, it's probably too late. Another recent epiphany I've had recently. I'd been using the 2.0 SmokeTech Dual coil cartos at about 4v. I've been blowing through them at the rate of one per day, I was about to give up, but I had a couple of 1.5ohm units so I tried one. It's been going strong at 4v for 3 days now. My assumption is voltage. I think that 4v just isn't high enough for the 2 ohm units. I'm still experimenting, however, I'm going to do some rough calculations and figure out the relative voltage for 2 ohm carts equivalent to 4v for 1.5ohm. Hope this helps.

My dual coil cartos are 1.5ohm and with the 3.7 volts I'm getting the results I want. The part I found strange was that the same type carto in another tank didn't make the rubber burn taste. Both juices are DIY, 100%PG and nearly clear.

I did notice, however, that these cartos only have one hole (pre-punched) where my 3.0ohm cartos had 2 holes. I'm looking into DIY carto punching, as it seems the bigger the hole the better.
