Well, got my small order in! I appreciate the heads up on the sale!

What did you get? I'm debating whether to order. The only ones I would definitely consider again (although some of the others are pretty good) are Dragon's Fire and Shadow. I'm not a big fan of their signature tobacco profile in Gaia, Huntsman, Dark Horse, etc. I can see the appeal, but it doesn't really agree with me. Does anyone know what tobacco HHV uses for those? Reminds me of some from BWB.

I made a rookie mistake and I am really p***** at myself. After weeks of experimenting I made about 60 mls of a brandy flavored cigar juice I called, Straight - No Ice. I have been vaping it like crazy and even sent some out to others. So, I go to make some more and I can't find the recipe. I could have sworn I entered it in the juice calculator but it's not there now. I do so much testing that I can't remember the ratios, just the ingredients

Moral of the story, write the recipe down as well as putting it in the computer file.

As to the propriety juice recipes. I think very soon now some of us that are doing home extractions are going to start mixing single varietals together with synthetic flavoring. So if someone comes up with a juice that everyone loves, I would have no complaint if they claimed their recipe as proprietary. However, I for one would have no problem sharing a recipe, because I'm not in business to sell juice. So why should I withhold it.

I use the ejuicemeup calculator. I use a laptop and it works just fine. You just have to remember to copy the recipe file to a flash drive as a back-up.

Take it from a computer guy. Backup everything, and then make a backup of your backup's. External hard-drives are cheap these days.

They sure are. If someone had told me 10 years ago that I could have terabytes of storage for under $100, I wouldn't have believed them. I'm sure in 10 years, today's latest and greatest hard drives will seem quaint and obsolete.

SSD are the way to go today. My current laptop takes a whopping 9.9 seconds from power on to CTRL+ALT+DEL to login. ;)

If you're getting into n.e.ts and wondering what all of these tobacco types are, look here for a good introduction.

For those who are trying to learn about different tobaccos, I found a note to myself about this post from Mike so I went searching. I found it on page 438, #4379, date May 22, 2014. It is great information! Cleared up several of my questions to myself about the different types and flavors. Thanks Mike!!! I feel marginally more knowledgeable now.

Back in the early 80s when I first got into computers for a living, we all thought 64mg of RAM was huge!!! Then came 10mb hard drives. WOW! Who could fill one of those? Shudder at the thought today...

Re-visiting QNJ Analog Red (70/30, 24mg, born on "May 2014") today on the Evod. The juice is a light amber color, just very slightly darker than the Analog Light I also ordered. It's only a 15ml plastic bottle, so it was hard to get a good sniff, but I could definitely smell faint tobacco.

This juice is good. A very analog-like experience. I can't really pick out any individual tobaccos right now, but I'm assuming it's a Virginia/Burley/touch of Oriental blend, which I think most analog-like NETs are. There's a very faint plasticky taste in the background that I get from all QNJs (probably just me - I have weird taste buds that often play tricks on me), but hopefully that will steep off. The closest juice I can compare it to is Big Spirit, but with more bite/throat hit. I'm really liking this juice with each passing vape. I think I'm going to get a 30ml next time I order from QNJ (which probably won't be for awhile). This could definitely be a contender for a retail Big Spirit replacement.

Thanks, that one looks good. It's free, has drops and ml measurements, and can accommodate up to 5 flavors vs. 4 for iVape.

The latest edition has room for seven flavors and the drop down tools menu is very handy.

Well... being Italian/ Sicilian I extract the way I cook, nothing except my carrier liquid is measured, otherwise it's a pinch or palm of my ingredients. I do the same during the Flavor steep and heat assisted reduction of the extracts, no specific goal, just done by Aroma and looks. When I mix my actual vaping juice; PG/VG, nic and flavor, everything is measured.

Prices still need to drop on the SSD's so they can come into the standard market... still, they have dropped quit a bit so far and if you don't mind increasing the price of a decent ( not top end ) system and paying 30-50% more... it can be done.
