Don't extract from whole tobacco leaves. They all, for the most part, taste like crap.

got it!

So question, I have juice that tasted grassy last week which has let up since then but then I have another that tasted great a week ago thats now tasting grassy. Ideas? these were both small 10ml batches I made from already strained concentrate.

Boomer told me to use a drop of apple cider vinegar per 5ml to remove the grassiness but how to avoid it in the first place?

OK, where is everyone or what thread is everyone on now? All the folks can't possibly be on vacation at the same time, LOL. Should I turn off the lights?

Trying desperately to finish off the box full of juices I have without succumbing to the lure of adding a second box..

I'm still keeping a partial eye on the thread though. :D

I'm tiring of trying a lot of new juices... currently I'm leaning to just vaping a couple of different one. As of this moment, N-E-T.com's tRY4.1 is my ADV and Big Spirit with some added menthol is now my second ADV juice.

Prior to the tRY4.1... I'd only tried one other RY4 from Highbrow but it never quite got my attention. I'm also now trying some conventional RY4's ( arti/syth ) to see if I can find one I like and that doesn't clog a coil like a NET juice does. If any other RY4 is going to replace the tRY4.1 from N-E-T.com... it's going to have to be really good... I don't see it happening but I won't know until I've tried them.

My experience with MVJ has not been as positive as some of you. All the ones i have tried have been vapeable, but none so far have been re-orders for me.

So far i have tried :

- Captain Black Dark
- Drew Estate Central Park South
- Davidoff Scottish
- Borkum Riff Black Cavendish
- Borkum Riff Bourbon
- 5 Vegas Cask
- Gurkha Legend

The descriptions on the site, taken from Pipe and Cigar review websites are not always accurate and/or don't translate well from smoking to vaping maybe !?

I haven't given up though. I have four extracts yet to mix :

H&H Louisiana Red Pipe
Sutliff Metropolitan
Sutliff Berkshire
H&H Obsidian Pipe

Maybe one of these will blow me away !

There where no free samples with either of my orders either !

Of the various VA-Per blends I've tried---all of which have been home extractions---H&H Louisiana Red is the most straight-ahead, no-kidding, tobacco-only mix. H&H Anniversary Kake is a somewhat softer aromatic blend, with C&D Poplar Camp being more flavored still.

The most aromatic VA-Pers I've had are two Missouri Meerschaum blend extracts that Johni sent me---Country Gentleman and Great Dane. Those two are more classic hybrid blends that are substantially sweeter and use non-tobacco flavorings more liberally. They're my current faves, however. I find myself reaching for CG and GD more than Louisiana Red. Apparently my days of being a hard-core tobacco guy are behind me.

you may want to let them steep a few weeks or more and be sure to shake them well.
If you are looking for a similar taste vaping as the Pipe and Cigar review of smoking the tobaccos, well it isn't going to happen. What you should get is a taste or feel of what the tobacco itself is like, sans the ashtray smell/taste.
A few others to try from MVJ that I and others like are:
Ashton's - Artisan's Blend
Drew Estate's - Meat Pie
Sutliff''s Private Stock - Field Master

The first four, i vaped after about 10 days but the latter three i got from a trade with Dusty and they were well steeped. Maybe i'm just not into Cavendish and Cigar vapes. The only Cavendish i have liked so far has been Clays Black Cav and even then it's an occasional vape for me. Cigars, i have very little experience with and have a difficult time distinguishing from each other except to recognize which one is a bit stronger than the other !

I will be trying them again of course !

MVJ's Sutliff Private Stock Blue Danube

For the first .1 - .2 ml I hated it. Seriously it tasted like a synthetic honey tobacco vape. After about .5ml it started coming together as vanilla, honey, fig, and fruit. After 1ml it was vanilla and fruit with a sweet undertaste. Eventually it turned into a vanilla, rum, fig flavor and then the fig faded. It really isn't a bad vape but it just never really caught my attention and made me perk up. If you like vanilla and rum this may be right up your alley. For me it is a little to Cavendish forward early on and too monotone after the 2ml mark.

I'm still doggin the Sir Walter Raleigh though. It has lost some of the sweetness but developed a nice midrange tone with good depth and complexity.

I don't even remember how i chose the ones i did originally, but three of the four were cavendishes. Two of the three i got from you were cigars. So perhaps these aren't the categories i should be looking at.

I will make note of these Dusty, but i'm not sure how soon i will be trying new juice tbh. My purchases in the past eight months have been ridiculous and i have easily 2 years worth of juice. I will be listing a lot of stuff in the classifieds soon i imagine. Otherwise any new purchase would be unjustifiable on my part.

I took advantage of the GeJ sale and stocked up on Patriot and VB. Tried Organic and Godfather for the first time. The Organic was a little too sweet for my taste and the Godfather had an overwhelming liquorice taste. I'll give those two another try in a few weeks to see if there are any changes in taste. Hopefully they'll tone down a bit.

I tried Godfather for the first time as well, and all i taste is black licorice !

I have now tried cigars from N.E.T, MVJ and GeJ. I don't think i will try another one.

W2V has my favorite cigar flavors but it would be nice if they included pneumatic drills for getting the crust of the coils. The taste is worth it though.

I've switched up to some Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey. The date on my mix is 10-15. So it has nearly two months on it. It seems to get better with every passing week. Nearly everything good about the flavor of bourbon is here without the annoying bite of alcohol. If an actual glass of bourbon tasted like this I would be an alcoholic. It uses less Black Cavendish than other BR blends and it is obvious. The Cavendish isn't as sweet as a super light cavendish and it doesn't have that Black Cavendish dampness and darkness. The tobacco actually seems to be an integral part of a balanced blend that delivers a smokey treat.

Oh, on another note. The fruit flavors returned to Blue Danube after I drank a bunch of water and ate dinner. I was wrong about the monotone nature past 2ml.

I got VAPEmail this week…..

From NET.com: Sour Apple Perique, Golden Apple, Grilled Pineapple, Pure Virginia, Red White & Blue and my first cigar Excalibur plus a sample of Burley Blast. Then from EV I received Confederate and for my freebie more Confederate. There is something about Confederate that is very addictive. Other than that the rest of the packages were Xmas gifts I ordered online during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And oh I did receive the ProVari P3 for myself. Have not had time to fool around with it yet.
