@juniemarie

Congrats for taking the first step!

If American Spirit is what you like I and I'm sure others can suggest NET.com: Cigarette-style e-Liquids

Some cautions though. Briefly looking over Texas Select it doesn't appear that their tobaccos are NETs. Manufactured tobacco as opposed to extracting the flavor from real tobacco. Remember though that nets take a fairly long time to get tasting right and since you're just beginning the switch it might be a good idea to get a sampler pack and let it hang out for a month: Sampler-Cigarette

I know this doesn't help with your current situation but there are others here who have experience with the artificial flavors.

Is this list still actual?

We are analog's in a digital thread.

So, always check on newbies you introduced to vaping. I recommended a few NET's to an acquaintance, from NET.com. He emails me and says they all tasted putrid. WTF? So, I'm at his place in the weekly poker rotation and he shows me the bottles of what he got. They were extracts. I asked him what his dilution ratio was. He says, " I'm suppose to dilute them? "

I gotta go play with my new Arduino MEGA. Off topic but such fun to play with this thing. I'm old school electronics, back when you had to solder every little piece. This modular stuff is a blast.

Hi and please forgive me if this isn't the right place to post my question and kindly point me to the right section. I am one day into vaping and 1 day under my belt without smoking.
I just picked up equipment and some liquids made by Texas Select Vaper. Only tobacco flavors
Eventually I want to make my own, but later for that.
What I need now is something that taste like tobacco. This stuff has a sickly sweet smell and taste, kind of like pipe tobacco. Its making my stomach feel a tad off.
FYI I smoked, as of yesterday morning, Organic American Spirit loose rolling tobacco, no filter. What I need are suggestions on a few others that I could order that might get a bit closer to what I want it to taste like.
I prefer not to use much PG, but someone said that all or high VG could be causing the sweet smell and flavor. Gosh I hope thats not the case. That will put me between a rock and a hard place.

Make your own from the American Spirit Organic. Dump the tobacco out of the paper, a whole pack, into a large size baby food jar. Fill it with PG. Leave it in a dark spot for a month. Shake it up about once a week. After the month is up, pour it into a coffee filter squeezing every last drop from the tobacco. You should have about 80 mls. of extract. This is you flavoring, mix 25% of the extract with 75% of you preferred base of PG, VG and Nic. Vape.

aces wired Its she! LOL and Boomers recipe for making my own didn't intimidate me at all since I am an experienced cook, but as someone getting of the hard stuff my brain is not functiong as well as it should be. I do hope to one day do it myself but for now its on the back burner.
I emailed Clay over at NET and he sent me the most kind, thoughtful, detailed response….I swear Im in love! He made several recommendations and Im going to scoot back over and order.
He recommend the the Organic Spirit cause its made from the exact same tobacco I smoke…uh….did smoke. The Minister, Balkan, and Sun Cured Turkish which I believe he said either all or some were under pipe tobacco.
I explained in excruciating detail exactly what I did and did not want in a tobacco e liquid as far as fragrance and taste. He is truly such a gentleman, I was impressed. Thanks for suggesting his business.

Aces is probably right... save the DYI for later after you've learned more... but that doesn't mean the questions aren't good ones...

Can someone explain about how long do NET's e liquids need to steep? Is it dependent on which one you buy or all of them really need to steep.
Do they steep unopened, or do they need to breathe a bit?
Also what is the difference between their regular e-liquids and the extracts?

Both NET and other e-liquids will require different amounts of steep time, some of which is subjective and up to the person... so it will differ for each person to some extent. NET's do seem to require more time than some others... but as I mentioned it differs between each type.

To steep... I shake a bottle and then open it for a little while so any alcohol that may have been used in the extraction process time to evaporate... then I close it off and let it set. I repeat that over the next week or so. Some of the steep process is from the oxygen mixing with the juices ( oxidation basically ), some of it is from the flavors mixing together better.

The extract is what is the flavoring itself... you mix it with VG,PG and NIC ( nicotine ) in the ratio's you prefer.

Boomer you can get an entire pouch of American Spirit into a large baby food jar! Find that hard to believe. So what do you mean by Nic. Vape isn't the nicotine coming from the the tobacco you just macerated? Or do you add some other nicotine?

Boomer said "pack" and not "pouch"

While nic is often extracted from tobacco and other plants... that is a different method than what a maceration ( soaking ) provides. Just soaking tobacco adds little to no nicotine to the juice. So you must add nic to the extract and PG/VG you use.

The Minister, Balkan, and Sun Cured Turkish

The Minister is very good. Sort of dark and smooth and smokey and subtle. Sun Cured Turkish is one of the finest blends I've had.

As for Clay's service, with my first order I had to call and give my CC number. Clay didn't know me from Adam and we ended up talking for 20 minutes about this and that. When I've emailed a question he's very quick with a comprehensive answer and suggestions.

I am searching some tobaccos for heat extraction:

I am looking for very good virginias and for a turkish oriental blend like the fantastic sun curred turkish from net.com and for a good burley.

Thanks for your warnings about my old list with tobaccos. The only one that i will buy is now the Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake. All the others have darker tobaccos. The second tobacco is the organic american spirit.

Do have some ideas, pleeeaase ? :(

Thank you for the concise guide. Bought a pack the other day when I realized I'd taken an empty tank to work. Smoked two. Saw your post and immediately went into the kitchen and combined the rest with PG. Will see in a month.

So none of the nic in the tobacco seeps into the PG?
