I'm dripping Uncle BJ's Blackberry Burley 70/30 Regular flavor and heat extract 12mg, Empire 100 with a Kick at 10W ( 18500 ) and an IGO-W 1.2 ohms on cotton wick. Nice tang of the blackberry but not overly so, and a definite in your face pipe burley. There's another tobacco in there, maybe latakia? Not sure yet. Tastes like a nice pipeful of flavored burley.
I actually got my order which included BJ's Blackberry Burley ( along with most of the other single varietals ) on Friday but was busy at work and then later that evening... Saturday I had a lot of running around and chores to get through... so I didn't get to vaping any of them until tonight and at that... just started a little bit ago so this will be short.
The BJ's Blackberry Burley certainly does have that smokey flavor that is reminiscent of the same in a Latakia but not the rest of the flavor notes ( that don't sit well with my palette ) ... just the smokeyness portion. So I can see how you'd think Latakia just on that alone... I believe that is the only other tobacco flavor I've vaped with that type of smokey notes to it. The Burley comes off to me as brown leaves... not a hay like or grass like flavor note. The Blackberry is actually as I had first invisioned it when BJ had suggested it... In previous reviews I felt they were saying it wasn't as sweet as I had thought it was going to be, I guess they were just trying to say it isn't an overly sweet one... but a natural fruit sweetness. For me... the balance between the Burley and Blackberry is perfect... the berry is just behind the burley in strength so supports it very well.
I've had, in a real pipe tobacco... both cherry and apple blends. So far, I haven't had a vape duplicate those accurately... While I haven't had a real blackberry one ... this is what I'd expect it taste like.
The Fire Cured Burley is the same as the one used in the Blackberry one... So just subtract out the fruit portion I mentioned and you've got it. It is a full rich flavor, not quite as dark as say A+'s BGB... but close but with a different type of burley flavor than BGB... so if you have one, you aren't duplicating the flavor with this one... it's a different type of burley notes to it. If you have another vape that lacks a bottom end to it... adding a bit of this will certainly help round it out. Where BGB is a bit more earthy... FCB is a bit more brown leafy in flavor.
The Air Cured Burley seems to be of the same type of leaf as the FCB but without the smokey notes, not quite as dark and I think a little bit smoother.
Overall for me... Blackberry Burley is ready to stand on it's own but certainly could be used to add flavor to another vape that may have some brighter tobacco's that need some bottom end added to them. The Fire Cured and Air Cured Burley's are prime candidates to mix with others but I don't think I'd vape them by themselves. I actually can't wait to try them with the Virginia, Perique and Turkish one's I've yet to vape.
